    • A drain line re-perforator device for punching holes in clogged drain pipe sections in a sewage disposal system is provided. The re-perforator device includes an outer cylindrically-shaped housing member and a dual-actuating ram assembly disposed concentrically within the outer housing member. Three equally spaced-apart angled bracket members are mounted hingedly on the peripheral surface of the outer housing member and includes a punch bit positioned for outward radial movement. The ram assembly is formed of a cylinder and a piston rod. The piston rod is moved in a reciprocal motion from a retracted position to a an extended position so as to cause the angled bracket members to pivot outwardly and the punch bits to move outward radially for punching holes in the clogged drain pipe sections.

    • Method of and device for making perforations in the inner gusset portions of a tubular web of plastics foil which is provided with side gussets. Such perforations serve to remove air from the interior of bags to be manufactured from the tubular web. According to the invention the gussets are opened over a distance sufficient to introduce, in the interior thereof, a punching member, which is activated by exerting a pressure from outside the tubular web. A device adapted to perform this method comprises a separate carrier provided at either one of its ends with rolls and adapted to be introduced into the interior of the tubular web where it is supported and maintained in its place lengthwise of the web, by two sets of rolls which are situated at the exterior of the tubular web. The carrier is provided with perforating units and the machine frame outside the tubular foil is provided with means to exert through the web material, a force and to activate the perforating units. Preferably elements for opening the tubular foil comprise sets of conical discs which are rotatable about spindles, such that one each in every set of rolls is situated in each of the two gusset halves.

    • A method of sealingly connecting a thermoplastic solar panel structure comprising a multiplicity of elongated thin wall sections defining a multiplicity of parallel passages extending longitudinally between the ends of said panel structure to a thermoplastic manifold tube comprising the steps of mounting an elongated mandrel having a multiplicity of transversely projecting elements corresponding in number and spacing to the panel passages to be communicated with the interior of the manifold tube, positioning a side wall portion of the manifold tube in predetermined spaced relation with the open end of the panel structure so that the projecting elements of the mandrel are generally longitudinally aligned with the open ends of a corresponding member of the passages in the panel structure, heating the spaced panel structure end and the manifold tube side wall portion to soften the thermoplastic material thereof, moving the mandrel within the manifold tube so as to position the projecting elements through the side wall portion thereof and into the open ends of said corresponding panel structure passages and the manifold tube toward the panel structure end so as to cause the manifold tube side wall portion to apply a pressure to the panel structure end sufficient to deform the thermoplastic material thereof and effect a fusing of the same into a unitary mass, and withdrawing the mandrel in the direction of extent of the projecting elements to a position within the interior of the manifold tube and then longitudinally out of the manifold tube and apparatus for carrying out the method.

    • Apparatus for forming an opening in a pipe from the interior thereof comprises a hydraulic ram having a cylinder within which slides a piston rod. A sharpened wedge-shaped tool is mounted in the free end of the piston rod, and the end of the cylinder remote from the tool has a rounded profile similar to that of the pipe to be cut. The cylinder is affixed to a carrier tube with the axis of the tube at right-angles to that of the tube. Using the tool, it is possible to cut an opening through a pipe extending within a tank which may contain combustible or explosive liquids or vapors, without risk of heat, sparks or the generation of swarf. As such, a replacement fill-pipe containing an anti-over-fill valve may be fitted to an existing fill-pipe of a petrol tank without the need to open the tank.
