摘要： A master die set and unit die system for use with a punch press, the master die set adapted to receive, align, clamp and release unit dies of standard dimensions so that unit dies may be quickly changed in the master die set while the master die set is operably installed in a punch press. The upper shoe of the master die set includes a sliding dovetail to align and clamp a punch holder plate of standard dimensions, the sliding dovetail operated by a single clamping screw. The opposed bottom shoe of the master die set includes a recessed pocket and clamps to align and clamp a unit die blank of standard dimensions in registry with the punch holder plate. The master die set is attached to the punch press by bearings so that the entire die set can rotate with respect to the punch press to cut saw teeth having the same tooth length, but different gullet depths, with the same die. Gage blocks are provided with the saw tooth cutting die to determine the amount of rotation necessary to cut saw teeth having a particular gullet depth.

摘要： A sliding block with a female die acts in conjunction with a four bar linkage mounted block with a male die to punch indexing holes in a moving metal strip. The block with male die continually seeks to rotate, but is held in position by the sliding block. The sliding block is programmed to periodically move forward at the speed of the moving metal strip and to return to starting position. This frees the male die to rotate to punch out the hole, and to continue to rotate back into the starting position to be held by the returned sliding block.

The apparatus includes a chassis that is mounted for limited movement in the direction of web travel. The chassis includes a clamping plate and a base plate which are selectively brought into clamping engagement with the web, which enables the chassis to be moved along with the web. Subsequently, a tool is drawn into engagement with the web to perform the work operation. Upon completion of the work operation, the tool is removed from the vicinity of the web, the web is released by the chassis clamping and base plates, and the chassis is returned to its original position.

A plurality of angular segments mounted in an annulus formed in proximity to the perimeter of the dies adapted for controlled radial travel of the angular segments during rotation of the dies, each angular segment having at least one ejector pin for radial reciprocal travel in a die recess, ejects punch-out material from the recess.

摘要： In an apparatus for cutting portions such as labels or tickets from a continuously moving web, the web is passed between a blade and a co-operating support member. As the web moves past the blade, the blade is displaced during the cutting operation in the same direction as the web and synchronously therewith, but over a shorter distance than the length of the portion to be cut out. The blade is then disengaged from the web and returned to its initial starting position. The support member may also be displaced in the opposite direction to the movement of the web and blade during the cutting operation.
