摘要： An improved apparatus characterized by an R-F coil, a crucible for confining a silicon melt, and a susceptor for supporting the crucible facilitating an electrical coupling of the coil with the melt. The susceptor comprises a pair of susceptor halves of a thickness less than two skin depths, each being the mirror image of the other, disposed in mutually opposed, electrically insulated relation, while the crucible comprises a quartz body supported by the graphite susceptor, whereby the R-F coil is electrically coupled with the melt.

摘要： An auxiliary tool for holding a rotatable fastener in engaged relation with a driving tool until the fastener can be started into the work is versatile and can be used with many different kinds of driving tools. In use, the present tool is secured magnetically to a ferrous metal portion of the driving tool. Spring rods on the tool can be separated and engaged with a fastener to hold the fastener therebetween and in engagement with the driving portion of the driving tool. Once the fastener is well started into the work, the present tool can be quickly and easily removed to permit the driving tool to be used alone.

摘要： A tool attachment for holding a fastener to a driver therefor comprises a magnetic holding assembly to which are attached spring fingers for grasping a fastener. The construction of the magnetic holding assembly provides for attachment of the device to elongated shafts of various shapes and sizes. The magnetic holding assembly is particularly characterized by an elongated, centrally-disposed pole piece which extends in the same direction as the axis of rotation of the shaft of the driver tool, when the attachment is in place. Magnets are attached to opposite sides of the pole piece in like-pole to like-pole relation, and the holding force so provided is quite high.

摘要： A susceptor for heating a plurality of semiconductor wafers, as by rf induction, comprises a hollow truncated pyramid of conventional graphite. The walls of the pyramid are planar except for ledges extending from the outer surfaces of the walls for supporting the wafers. A heat shield of pyrolytic graphite is fixed to the inner surface of the walls, directly behind each of the supported wafers. The heat shield has an area substantially coextensive and in alignment with the area of the wafer. The heat shields are anisotropic and are disposed with their low heat conducting directions extending in directions transversely to the surfaces of the walls so that the portions of the walls sandwiched between the wafers and the heat shields get hotter than the remaining portions of the walls.
