    • Silicone compositions comprising an organopolysiloxane composition and an organic compound capable of coordination with metals are described. Since the organic compound is preferentially adsorbed on a metal surface, the composition is particularly suitable for use in electric or electronic parts to prevent contact failure. A more specific embodiment comprises a diorganopolysiloxane of the average unit formula, R.sub.a SiO.sub.(4-a)/2, wherein each R independently represents an unsubstituted or substituted monovalent hydrocarbon group, and a is a value of from 1.90 to 2.05, a filler, an alkoxysilane or its hydrolyzate, a silylation catalyst made of an organic silicon compound having at least one specific type of group, an organic tin compound, another organosilicon compound capable of reaction with an alcohol in order to stabilize the composition, and an organic compound capable of coordination with metals.

    • Self-adhesive silicone compositions having (A) an organopolysiloxane of the following average unit equation (1)(R.sup.1).sub.z --SiO.sub.(4-z)/2 (1)wherein R.sup.1 is either a substituted or an unsubstituted monovalent hydrocarbon group and Z is a number in the range from 1.98 to 2.01 having a viscosity at 25.degree. C. of at least 300 cSt,(B) an organic silicon compound which possesses at least one group expressed by the following equation (2) within the molecule: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.2 is a substituted or an unsubstituted monovalent hydrocarbon group, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are either a hydrogen atom, methyl group, or an ethyl group, and n is an integer of 0, 1, or 2, and(C) an organic peroxide. The silicone compositions strongly adhere onto various materials such as metals and plastics without the need of primer treatments.

    • The present novel organosilicon compound is a 2-trimethoxysilylpropionate represented by the following formula ##STR1## wherein R represents a monovalent hydrocarbon group having 6 to 12 carbon atoms. This ester reacts efficiently with alcohols and silanols and is useful, for example, as a terminal alkoxysilylating agent for organopolysiloxanes such as industrially useful .alpha.,.omega.-dihydroxypolydimethylsiloxane, or as a surface treatment for silicas, or as a storage stabilizer that serves as a scavenger of an alcohol for alcohol elimination type RTV. Further, since the present organosilicon compound is a three-functional alkoxysilane having three methoxy groups in the molecule, it is useful as a curing agent for alcohol elimination type RTV.
