摘要： Disclosed is a free cutting steel for machine structural use having excellent chip-breakability. The steel consists essentially of, by wt. %. C: 0.05-0.8%, Si: 0.01-2.5%, Mn: 0.1-3.5%, S: 0.01-0.2%, Ca or Ca+Mg; 0.0005-0.02%, Ti: 0.002-0.010% and/or Zr: 0.002-0.025%, O: 0.0005-0.010%, and the balance of impurities and Fe. At least five MnS inclusion particles having averaged particles sizes of 1.0 μm or more exists per mm2 per 0.01% of S-content in the steel. The steel satisfies the condition that, in the microscopic fields, (area[μm2]/aspect ratio)≧10, and that the the area percentage of Ca-containing sulfide inclusions containing at least 1.0 wt. % of Ca is in the range of 15-40% of the area of all the sulfide inclusions.

摘要： An object of the present invention is to provide an untempered free-machining steel to be nitrided, not containing Pb, capable of securing a predetermined strength and hardness and having machinability higher than steel containing Pb; and nitrided products. To be more specific, the present invention relates to a bainite-type untempered free-machining steel to be nitrided containing C: 0.05 to 0.8 wt %, Si: 0.01 to 2.5 wt %, Mn: 0.1 to 3.5 wt %, P: 0.001 to 0.2 wt %, S: 0.01 to 0.2 wt %, Cr: 1.0 to 3.5 wt %, V: 0.1 to 0.5 wt %, Al: 0.001 to 0.020 wt %, Ca: 0.0005 to 0.02 wt %, and O: 0.0005 to 0.01 wt % and the residue with an alloy composition of unavoidable impurities and Fe as its basic alloy composition, provided that a content of each of the Mn, the S and the Cr satisfy the formula: ([Mn]−55×[S]/32+[Cr])>2.0, in which an occupation area of a sulfide inclusion present in contact with an oxide inclusion containing 8 to 62 wt % of CaO and containing not less than 1.0 wt % of Ca is not less than 2.0×10−4 mm2 per visual field area of 3.5 mm2. The present invention also relates to a method of manufacturing the above bainite-type untempered free-machining steel to be nitrided and nitrided products manufactured by the said manufacturing method.

摘要： An organic material production system includes: a pretreatment device (12) that pulverizes a biomass material (11); a hydrothermal decomposition apparatus (14) that hydrothermally decomposes a pulverized biomass (13) by causing it to countercurrently contact with hot compressed water (15), elutes lignin components and hemicellulose components into the hot compressed water (15), and separates the lignin components and the hemicellulose components from a biomass solid residue; a first enzymatic hydrolysis device (19-1) that treats cellulose in a biomass solid residue (17), discharged from the hydrothermal decomposition apparatus, with an enzyme (18) to enzymatically hydrolyze it to a sugar solution containing hexose; a fermenter (21) that produces ethanol by fermentation using a sugar solution (20) obtained by the first enzymatic hydrolysis device (19-1); and a refiner 25 that refines an alcohol fermentation liquid (22), so as to separate it into ethanol (23) and a residue (24).

By means of this small collision chamber 36, the pressure inside the chamber rises without introducing additional gas; therefore, argon ions are neutralized by collision and recombination between the ions and electrons and the ion density of the plasma is reduced. Thus, the beam diameter during ion extraction and transport is maintained relatively small.

摘要： A valve operating system in an internal combustion engine includes an associative-operation switchover means capable of switching over the associative operation of a pair of rocker arms disposed adjacent each other and the releasing of the associative-operation. The associative-operation switchover means is provided between a plurality of rocker arms including the rocker arms disposed adjacent each other. In such valve operating system, through-bores are coaxially provided in support walls of the rocker arm, and opposite ends of a roller shaft are fitted and fixed in the through-bores. A spring-receiving member is mounted to the roller shaft for receiving a return spring. Thus, when the roller shaft with the return spring of the associative-operation switchover means accommodated therein is mounted to the rocker arm, it is possible to facilitate the processing and to reduce the size and weight of the rocker arm.

摘要： In a valve operating system for an internal combustion engine that includes a valve operation mode changing mechanism capable of changing at least one of either the lift amount of opening of an engine valve openably and closably carried in an engine body or the opening or closing timing in accordance with a variation in hydraulic pressure supplied to the changing mechanism. A selector valve is provided and includes a valve element slidably received in a housing attached to the engine body to change the supply of hydraulic pressure to the valve operation mode changing mechanism. The housing of the selector valve is provided with a working oil chamber which receives an oil pressure for driving, toward a position to supply a higher hydraulic pressure to the valve operation mode changing mechanism, a valve element biased toward a position to supply a lower hydraulic pressure to the valve operation mode changing mechanism. The working oil chamber is connected through a leak jet to a drain chamber provided in the engine body. The leak jet permits the hydraulic pressure to be quickly released from the working oil chamber when the valve element of the selector valve is driven to block the communication between the hydraulic pressure supply source and the valve operation mode changing mechanism, thereby leading to a quick changing operation of the valve operation mode changing mechanism.

摘要： An iron-based alloy comprises 1.5 to 2.5 wt % of C, 0.25 to 4.75 wt % of Ni, and W and V in quantities surrounded by the line L as shown in FIG. 1 of the attached drawings with a balance of Fe and inevitable impurities. The iron-based alloy is obtained by a first heat treatment for applying a solid solution treatment by rapidly cooling the iron-based alloy from a temperature of an austenite forming temperature or more to consequently obtain a mixed matrix comprising a base matrix of martensite and remaining austenite phases and a non-molten carbide, and a second heat treatment for cooling the iron-based alloy after precipitating an MC type carbide within an eutectoid transformation temperature range to consequently precipitate a low carbon content austenite phase.
