摘要： An engine system is provided, which includes a cylinder block, a cylinder head, a piston, a main combustion chamber, a subchamber, an injector that injects fuel into the main combustion chamber, a main spark plug that ignites a mixture gas inside the main combustion chamber, a subspark plug that ignites the mixture gas inside the subchamber, and a controller electrically connected to the injector, the main spark plug and the subspark plug. When an engine load is above a given reference load, the controller controls, in a low-speed range below a given reference engine speed, the ignition devices so that the subignition is performed after the main ignition, and the controller controls, in a high-speed range exceeding the reference engine speed, the ignition devices so that only the subignition is performed, or so that the main ignition is performed at the same timing as or after the subignition.

摘要： A combustion-powered placing tool for driving fastening elements into a subsurface comprises a main combustion chamber for a compressible fuel, a driving piston, which in a starting position is retracted, and which can be driven from the main combustion chamber in the placing direction via expandable gases, a prechamber to which an ignition device is assigned, and in which a pressure acting upon the main combustion chamber can be build up prior to ignition of a fuel-air mixture in the main combustion chamber, wherein an additional ignition device is assigned to the main combustion chamber. In order to improve the effectiveness and/or the functionality during driving-in of a fastener, the placing tool comprises a selector device, allowing a selection between a reduced energy operation having an ignition in the main combustion chamber and a high-energy operation having an ignition in the prechamber.

摘要： The specification and drawings present a new apparatus and method for a partial gas separation technique which can be used, e.g., for continuously providing, using a predefined atmospheric air (normally atmospheric air comprises 78% of nitrogen N2 and 21% of oxygen O2), oxygen-enriched gas/air and/or nitrogen-enriched gas/air in fossil-fueled combustion devices/systems to a combustion area/chamber and the like for improving combustion, exhaust and related properties of the apparatus. The partial gas separation technique can be based on forming a predefined directional pattern of a gas mixture of a plurality of gases, using a direction forming element, subsequently moving an output gas from the direction forming element at least along/against one surface of a gas separation element to spatially separate in part the plurality of gases having different molecular weights.

The method includes receiving a first pressure measurement from a first sensor associated with a gas cylinder, receiving a design schema describing an intake manifold, the intake manifold included within the gas engine, segmenting the design schema into a plurality of segments, defining a fluid dynamics model associated with each of the plurality of segments, defining a plurality of interconnected 2-port elements based on the plurality of fluid dynamics models, estimating a second pressure measurement for the gas cylinder based on the plurality of interconnected 2-port elements, comparing the first pressure measurement to the second pressure measurement, and determining that the first sensor is in an anomalous state.

摘要： A method of introducing additives to an air intake system of an engine in order to overcome one or more of the various problems created by formulation of additives in fuels. The method controls at least one of the amount, aerosol particle size and timing of introduction of additives based on information relevant to operation of the engine. The introduced additives form an air-additive mixture and are carried by the airflow in the air-intake system to the combustion chamber of the engine. Another aspect of the invention is an additive introduction system that includes one or more containers for additives, a control system for determining at least one of the amount, aerosol particle size and timing of introduction of the additives, and a device to introduce the additives into the air intake system under the control of the control system.
