    • A vibrating apparatus, such as a shuttle type dot printer, has a vibrating unit mounted in the casing thereof and which, when it operates, generates vibrations in opposite lateral directions of the vibrating unit. The vibrating unit is mounted in the casing for providing interacting of vibrations which occur in the inside by leaf type springs connected between pairs of projections on the vibrating unit and the casing with the plane of the leaf type springs perpendicular to the lateral direction of the vibrations of the vibrating unit. The apparatus further has a locking device for locking the vibrating unit relative to the casing, which, when the casing is on a supporting surface, allows the vibrating unit to vibrate freely in the opposite lateral directions, and which, when the casing is lifted off the supporting surface, locks the vibrating unit to the casing.

    • A printer of a type ensuring a rapid and easy shift between a mode for effecting printing onto a continuous form and another mode for printing onto a cut sheet, comprises a delivery unit pivotally supported by a printer body frame. When the delivery unit is held at its first operational position wherein a platen fixed to the same unit is disposed close to a printing head, a continuous form delivered from tractors is further delivered along a continuous form feeding path which forms a flat plane, and printing is performed on the aforementioned platen of the delivery unit. On the other hand, when a cassette is mounted to the printer after the delivery unit is moved downward up to a second operational position, a cut sheet delivered from the cassette is delivered along a cut sheet feeding path which forms the same plane as the aforesaid flat plane, to be printed on a platen fixed to the cassette.

    • In a printer, a sheet discharge port for discharging a sheet therefrom is provided on the upper surface of an exterior case, and a recess portion for preventing invasion of a foreign material into the sheet discharge port is formed in the neighborhood of the sheet discharge port. The recess portion passes by the sheet discharge port, and at least one of the ends thereof is opened to the side surface of the exterior case. The side surface of the exterior case to which the open end of the recess portion is adjacent forms a foreign material discharging passage along which a foreign material discharged from the open end of the recess portion falls down without invading the printer.

    • A cutter device includes, in addition to one solenoid 17, two pairs of assemblies disposed in parallel with each other in a direction of movement of a cutter 2, the first pair having a rack 5, a pinion 10, and a clutch 49 to control rotation of the pinion, and the second pair having another rack 6, another pinion 11, and another clutch 50 to control rotation of the pinion.     • A push-pull printer includes at least one tractor unit thus is formed to have both a pull function and a push function. Fork-like mounting portions are respectively formed at lower portions of a pair of frames provided at both ends of the tractor unit. A pair of tractor guides are located at each of push and pull feed positions of the printer body. Each guide detachably holds a corresponding fork-like mounting portion. When the tractor is to be used in the push type paper feed mode, the fork-like mounting portions are attached to the tractor guides located at the push feed position. However, for use in the pull type paper feed mode, the fork-like mounting portions are attached to the tractor guides located at the pull feed position.
