    • When an air flow rate meter is used in the intake tube of internal combustion engines, such a meter typically having a flat substrate with at least one resistor film disposed on it, the problem arises of dirt deposits on the substrate end face facing into the flow, which cause undesirable changes in the characteristic curve compared with the calibrated new state of the air flow rate meter. The novel embodiment of the air flow rate member is intended to enable calibration based on conditions expected in practice. To produce the effect, while the air flow rate meter is new, of long-term soiling of an air flow rate meter substrate over a period of operation, a leading body, for instance shaped as a U, is disposed on the end face of the substrate facing into the flow. The leading body simulates a soiled effect while the air flow rate meter is still new, and this effect is taken into account in the calibration. The leading body may be of electrically conductive plastic or lacquer and may be connected to a ground line (15). The air flow rate meter is quite generally suitable for measuring flowing media.

    • A fuel injection system for internal combustion engines is proposed which serves the purpose of fuel injection into the air intake tube of the engine. The fuel injection system includes a fuel injection valve, which is supported upstream of a throttle valve in a holder body disposed coaxially in the air intake tube. A fuel supply line leads to the fuel injection valve, extending in a downwardly directed manner toward the fuel injection valve and away from a deaeration chamber. A fuel return line leads away from the fuel injection valve, extending in an upwardly inclined direction to discharge into the regulating chamber, disposed at a higher level, of a pressure regulating valve. A fuel feed line originating at a fuel supply pump terminates in an upwardly directed manner into the dearation chamber, which communicates via a dearation nozzle with the regulating chamber, so that vapor bubbles can escape upstream of the injection valve into the return side of the injection valve.

    • A fuel injection valve is proposed for fuel injection systems of internal combustion engines, which serves to supply fuel into the intake tube of the engine. The injection valve includes a movable valve element which cooperates with a fixed valve seat, downstream of which are provided horizontal fuel guidance bores which discharge tangentially into a spin chamber. The spin chamber is disposed so that it widens conically in the flow direction. The fuel guidance bores simultaneously serve as metering bores. The spin chamber causes an axial speed component to be imparted to the fuel entering via the fuel guidance bores. As a result, the dwell time of the metered fuel within the spin chamber is short, and even in the case of quite short injection pulses, the fuel is still sufficiently well prepared.

    • A fuel injection apparatus is proposed for mixture-compressing, externally ignited internal combustion engines which serves to apportion a quantity of fuel corresponding to the aspirated air quantity and to effect good preparation of the fuel-air mixture. The fuel injection apparatus comprises a fuel apportionment valve which is actuatable by means of an air flow rate meter arranged in the air induction tube of the internal combustion engine and an arbitrarily actuatable throttle valve arranged downstream of the air flow rate meter. The air flow rate meter has a circular control body, which is rotatably arranged on a bearing shaft with its outer circumference facing in the opposite direction to the air flow and, being transversely arranged with respect to the air induction tube, opens to a greater or lesser degree an aperture which defines the air induction tube cross-sectional area. The air flow rate meter is moved against a return force in accordance with the air quantity flowing therethrough.

    • An injection valve for fuel injection devices for internal combustion engines which serves to inject fuel into the intake pipe. The injection valve consists of a valve body with a valve seat cooperating with the sealing part of a valve needle. The valve needle is guided by guide sections in a guide bore of the valve body. The guide section immediately adjoining the sealing part simultaneously serves as a metering section for metering the fuel. For this purpose axially extending surfaces are disposed on the metering section, which form throttling metering openings together with the guide bore. By metering the fuel upstream from the valve seat, impairment of the fuel metering because of deposits formed by reaction of harmful materials from the intake pipe is avoided.

    • In flow rate meters with a ceramic substrate extending into a flow opening and having at least one temperature-dependent resistor film, there is the danger that excessive acceleration forces from a fall or from an impact will break the ceramic substrate. There is also the danger of destruction of the ceramic substrate from being unintentionally touched by an object or a finger. To increase the protection of the ceramic substrate against breakage, a reinforcing element is provided on a first housing half, protruding into the flow opening over a portion of the ceramic substrate and being glued to the ceramic substrate in the same manner as the first housing half. Protective ribs protrude from the housing halves into the flow opening in the direction of the ceramic substrate and prevent unintentional contact with the ceramic substract by objects or fingers. The flow rate meter is suitable for measuring the flow rate of the aspirated air in internal combustion engines.
