    • A fuel injection system for internal combustion engines is proposed which serves the purpose of fuel injection into the air intake tube of the engine. The fuel injection system includes a fuel injection valve, which is supported upstream of a throttle valve in a holder body disposed coaxially in the air intake tube. A fuel supply line leads to the fuel injection valve, extending in a downwardly directed manner toward the fuel injection valve and away from a deaeration chamber. A fuel return line leads away from the fuel injection valve, extending in an upwardly inclined direction to discharge into the regulating chamber, disposed at a higher level, of a pressure regulating valve. A fuel feed line originating at a fuel supply pump terminates in an upwardly directed manner into the dearation chamber, which communicates via a dearation nozzle with the regulating chamber, so that vapor bubbles can escape upstream of the injection valve into the return side of the injection valve.

    • A fuel injection system is proposed which serves to supply fuel to a mixture-compressing, externally ignited internal combustion engine in accordance with operational parameters of the engine. The fuel injection system includes a metallic fuel distributor tube, which communicates via at least one branch line with at least one fuel injection valve, wherein the branch line is embodied as a metal tube and is connected with the fuel injection valve by means of a threaded assembly. The material used for the branch line is easily bendable metal. Between the threaded assembly at the branch line and the fuel injection valve, a thin-walled metallic bellows is provided, by means of which a lateral displacement between the attachment point of the branch line at the fuel distributor tube and the installation point of the fuel injection valve is compensated for, and the noise of operation produced by the fuel injection valve is damped.

    • A method for mixture formation for mixture-compressing internal combustion engines having a turbocharger and a fuel supply system for performing the method. The fuel supply system serves to regulate the fuel-air mixture in accordance with operating parameters of the engine and includes a first fuel supply element disposed upstream of a throttle valve and a second fuel supply element disposed upstream of a compressor. Below the operating temperature of the engine, fuel is fed only via the first fuel supply element. Above the operating temperature of the engine, the feeding of fuel is effected via the first fuel supply element until such time as the charging range begins, at a predetermined intake manifold pressure (p.sub.um), and above this pressure only via the second fuel supply element. The transition from one fuel supply element to the other takes place in accordance with a predetermined timed function. As a result, good fuel preparation and good cylinder filling are attained.

    • A fuel injection valve is proposed which, especially in low-fuel-pressure systems, serves to inject fuel into the intake tube of a mixture-compressing internal combustion engine with externally supplied ignition. The fuel injection valve includes a fixed valve seat cooperating with a movable valve element, downstream of which the fuel to be injected is carried into a mixture guidance channel of a mixture guidance tube and surrounded on all sides with air or exhaust gas for preparation immediately upon its entrance into the mixture guidance channel and injected via an injection opening into the intake tube. The mixture guidance channel may be embodied as tapering in conical fashion toward the injection opening. For the purpose of preliminary preparation of the fuel, secondary air or exhaust gas can already be delivered to the fuel before its entrance into the mixture guidance channel. The fuel injection valve embodied according to the invention assures optimal preparation of the fuel to be injected, even at low fuel pressures, and good running behavior of the engine in the event of abrupt changes in load.

    • In a method for reducing the fuel supply for one cylinder of a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine with centralized injection, the procedure is that the cylinder located in the intake cycle sequence in front of the cylinder whose mixture is to be made much leaner, for example because of unreliable combustion, is already supplied with less fuel than is the case when all cylinders are operable.
