    • A snap-fit shield is provided which fits securely within a frame opening, and which shields and grounds the opening while eliminating a need for a complementary connector portion. The shield has an insulative inner housing having a first base wall and a first pair of side walls and end walls extending therefrom defining a first cavity. The shield includes a conductive shell having a second base wall and a second pair of side walls and end walls extending therefrom defining a second cavity. The second pair of side walls and end walls have at least one outward bias positioned thereon. The shield also has an insulative outer housing having a third base wall and a third pair of side walls and end walls extending therefrom defining a third cavity. The outer housing is configured to snap-fit within an opening in a frame so as to shield circuitry internal thereto. The third cavity of the outer housing is configured to receive at least a portion of the conductive shield therein, while the second cavity of the conductive shield is configured to receive the inner housing therein.

    • A method and incorporated assembly is provided that can be quickly assembled and disassembled inside side racks used for purpose of housing computer systems. The assembly comprises a plurality of side plates that can be secured to inside rack sides, preferably through flexible flanges, a plurality of top and bottom plates that can be secured to the side plates, and a mid-plate is disposed substantially horizontally between the top and bottom plates. Alternately, the assembly can also comprise at least one rear plate that can be secured to the side plates to provide a third side for the assembly. In one embodiment, the rear plates have openings designed to allow for front to back air flow ventilation. In another embodiment the assembly further comprises at least one divider plate, and preferably a plurality of divider plates, that can be secured to the top and bottom and/or mid-plate(s). In such a case, the divider plates are disposed above and/or below the mid-plate and preferably each comprise of upper and lower divider plates.

    • A latch mechanism is provided for latching a field-replaceable unit within an enclosure. The latch mechanism includes a rotatable latch coupled to the field-replaceable unit, via a pivot, at a first side of the field-replaceable unit, and a compliant spring member disposed to act on the pivot. The compliant spring member acts on the pivot and compresses with rotating of the latch from an open position to a latched position during latching of the field-replaceable unit within the enclosure. The compressing facilitates provision of a positive pressure on or across the field-replaceable unit directed towards a second side of the field-replaceable unit opposite to the first side. This positive pressure facilitates, for example, fixed coupling of a first connector at the second side of the field-replaceable unit to a second connector associated with the enclosure when the field-replaceable unit is latched within the enclosure.

    • A docking apparatus for printed circuit boards including a cassette housing defining a housing cavity for containing a printed circuit board (PCB) and a linkage mechanism associated with the cassette housing. The linkage mechanism includes a linkage arm pivotally connected to the cassette housing via a pivot and has a first arm pivotally connected to the PCB, a traveler having a threaded bore therethrough connected to a second arm extending from the first arm, a shaft threadedly engaged in the left handed threaded bore through the traveler at a first end defining the shaft, the first end configured to operably transfer axial translation of the shaft to the traveler, and an opposite second end defining the shaft threaded engaged in a right handed threaded bore through a split nut operably secured to the cassette housing. The traveler and nut are configured to threadably receive corresponding threads of the shaft for axial translation of the shaft therethrough, wherein rotation of the shaft translates the shaft causing rapid pivotal movement of the linkage arm about the pivot via the traveler and nut, causing translation of the PCB in and out of engagement with a corresponding connector.
