摘要： Disclosed are systems and methods for processing the releasing and/or dispensing of releasable items, particularly pills, capsules, tablets, medications, and drugs. In one embodiment, a system for processing the releasing and/or dispensing releasable items includes a releasing unit configured to verify whether a cartridge is authorized for usage with a releasing unit. The releasing unit is further configured to send data corresponding to the releasable items and the activities of the items via a network and/or telephone line. The system further includes a central-computing device configured to receive the data via the network and/or telephone line and provide a database of the data to a provider, e.g., pharmacist. In one embodiment, a method for processing the releasing and/or dispensing of releasable items includes verifying whether a cartridge is authorized for usage with a releasing unit, gathering data corresponding to the releasable items from the cartridge, determining whether to release the releasable items to a user in accordance to the gathered data, recording data corresponding to the activities of the medication in a memory in the releasing unit, sending the data from the releasing unit to a central-computing device via a network and/or telephone line, wherein the central-computing device provides a database of the activities data and sends database information to a provider.

摘要： The present invention relates to a chromatography column that removes the longitudinal load from the column tube altogether and transfers it to a yoke and stanchion arrangement situated around but external to the column tube. By using the yoke/stanchion system, the central adjuster can be used to move the top end into and out of the housing. Thus, when internal pressure is applied to the column, the tube experiences no longitudinal load. Additionally, the yoke and stanchion design allows for complete removal of the end from the tube without cumbersome disassembly. Moreover, the yoke provides a place to retain the end while the tube is being filled, emptied, cleaned or repaired.

摘要： A chromatography column having at least one central slurry valve positioned at either the top cell assembly and/or the bottom cell assembly. The central slurry valves have a pneumatically actuated valve sleeve which can be shifted to create three different flow configurations. One flow configuration allows for the simultaneous cleaning in place of the flow path used to charge the column with chromatography media and the separate processing of fluid through the chromatography media. The other flow configurations permit the reslurrying and removal of chromatography media from the column, and the subsequent repacking of the column with fresh chromatography media without disassembling the column.
