    • A process and system for removing contaminants from a natural gas stream, the process comprising the steps of: (a) contacting part of the natural gas stream as a first gas stream at an elevated temperature with a first adsorbent bed in regeneration mode, to remove contaminants present on the first adsorbent bed, and to obtain a second gas stream that is enriched in contaminants compared to the first gas stream; (b) submitting the second gas stream to a gas/liquid separation step comprising cooling the second gas stream to a temperature such that at least some contaminants begin to condense into a first liquid phase that is rich in contaminants, and separating the first liquid phase from the second gas stream to create a third gas stream; wherein the gas/liquid separation step forms a first gas/liquid separation step, and wherein the process further comprises (c) submitting the third gas stream to a second gas/liquid separation step to obtain a second liquid phase that is rich in contaminants, and a lean gas stream.

    • This invention relates to a latching shifter for bicycle transmissions, such as hub transmissions or derailleurs, with a housing, a latch element with notches, a latching spring with a latching lug and two projections, as well as a slide with different bias stages which interact with the projections of the latching spring. By changing the position of the slide, the projections of the latching spring are brought together with different bias stages of the slide, whereupon the latching spring is pressed with varying degrees of pressure by means of its latching lug into the notches of the latching element. The advantage of the externally adjustable bias is that the shifter can be individually adjusted in terms of the retention force which prevents unintentional shifting when the bicycle is in motion.

    • A thickening agent comprising polyether derivatives of the general formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is a substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon radical or an alkylphenol radical having 10 or more carbon atoms, n is 10 to 100, m is 0 to 25, and p is 1 to 3, and wherein R.sub.2 is an alkyl radical having 8 to 30 carbon atoms. These polyether derivatives are prepared by the gradual addition of a long-chain 1,2-epoxy having a chain length of 10 to 32 carbon atoms at temperatures from 100.degree. to 200.degree. C., to either (1) a polyethylene glycol monoether having an average molecular weight of 800 to 5000, the monoether group thereof being a substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon radical having at least 10 carbon atoms; or to (2) a polyethylene glycol-polypropylene glycol monoether with an average molecular weight of 850 to 6300, and having repeating ethylene oxide and propylene oxide units each forming a polyethylene glycol and polypropylene glycol block, respectively, the polypropylene glycol block having an average molecular weight of no more than 1300, and the monoether group forming the end of the polyethylene glycol block and being a substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon radical having at least 10 carbon atoms. This thickening agent is prepared using 0.1 to 1.0% by weight of an alkali hydroxide, referring to the total quantity of the long-chain epoxy and the monoether.

    • A method for metal-mirror cryofixation of bio-medical or similar technical specimens in which a specimen is brought into contact with a highly polished, cooled metal mirror in order to cool at least a marginal zone of the specimen suddenly to a low temperature. In order to avoid deformation of the specimen caused by freezing, provision is made, immediately after the first contact between the specimen and the metal mirror, to press the latter against one another by an additional independent force until the specimen is completely frozen. A cryofixation device for this purpose comprises a force generating device, for example, a separate power storage device (135) which, under control, functions after contact between the specimen (106) and metal mirror (102), in other words exerts the additional force between the specimen and the metal mirror (FIG. 7).
