摘要： Provided is a microporous material including (a) a polyolefin matrix which contains ultrahigh molecular weight polyolefin having a molecular weight greater than 7 million grams per mole and 30 to 80 weight percent high density polyolefin, (b) finely divided particulate filler having a density ranging from 2.21 to 3.21 grams per cubic centimeter distributed throughout the matrix, and (c) at least 35 percent by volume of a network of interconnecting pores communicating throughout the microporous material. The microporous material has a density ranging from 0.6 to 0.9 g/cc, a Sheffield smoothness of less than or equal to 40, and an air flow rate of 1000 or more Gurley seconds. Printed electronic devices prepared from and methods of making the microporous material also are provided.

摘要： A foam composite adapted to remove sparingly soluble hydrocarbon contaminants from water is provided. The adapted foam composite comprises a scaffold of an open cell hydrophobic polyurethane foam having a plurality of pores with a plurality of surfaces which have a coating of hydrophobic polyurethane disposed thereupon. The foam composite may be made by preparing a hydrophobic polyurethane prepolymer comprising the reaction product of a C8-C12 monohydric alcohol with a polyisocyanate, contacting an open cell hydrophobic polyurethane foam having a plurality of pores having a plurality of surfaces with the hydrophobic polyurethanes prepolymer and a polyol, and curing the prepolymer to form a coating of hydrophobic polyurethane on the surfaces of the pores of the hydrophobic polyurethane foam.

摘要： A foam comprising a foamed polymer-ionomer blend comprising: (a) at least one thermoplastic polymer selected from the group consisting of polyethylene and copolymers thereof, polypropylene and copolymers thereof, polybutene-1, poly(4-methylpentene-1), polystyrene and copolymers thereof, and (b) an ionomer resin comprising at least one direct or graft terpolymer prepared from: (1) ethylene, (2) α,β-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid having from 3 to 8 carbon atoms, and (3) softening comonomer selected from the group consisting of (A) vinyl esters of aliphatic carboxylic acids wherein the aliphatic carboxylic acid has from 2 to 10 carbon atoms, (B) alkyl vinyl ethers wherein the alkyl group contains from 1 to 10 carbon atoms, and (C) alkyl acrylates or alkyl methacrylates wherein the alkyl group contains from 1 to 10 carbon atoms. The ionomer resin contains acid groups derived from the α,β-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid that are at least partially neutralized with mono- or divalent metal ions. The blend has a flexural modulus of less than about 20,000 psi and a melt tension of greater than about 10 cN at 220° C. The foam cell compositions are suitable for use in multilayer structures and articles such as diapers, adult incontinence pads, and sanitary napkins.
