摘要： Waste solids are treated by pyrolysis at a temperature over 700 degrees C. to produce char and a gas. The gas is treated in an anaerobic digester. In one system, gas and digestate are brought into contact in a diffusion cone. In another option, headspace gas above the digestate is re-circulated through the digestate, for example by way of an eductor downstream of the diffusion cone.

摘要： A method and facility for the hydrothermal carbonization of pasty products or waste, or sewage sludge, in a pressurized reactor heated to carbonization temperature T0. Before entering the reactor, the products undergo: pressurization, and preheating in an exchanger, by a thermal fluid flowing in a closed loop, and receiving heat from products exiting the reactor; the thermal fluid is heated in the loop by an external heat source, downstream from the exchange with the products exiting the reactor, and upstream from the preheating of the products entering the reactor, and the temperature of the product to be treated, preheated by the thermal fluid, when it enters the reactor, is between the carbonization temperature T0 and T0-100° C. The product to be treated flows in at least one tube, where in at least one location therein, liquid is injected to create a liquid ring against the inner wall, and reduce pressure drops.

摘要： A thermal treatment system and method is disclosed for processing organic material. In a first embodiment, the system includes a thermal input device and a reaction device to thermally treat organic material to achieve cell lysing and cell formation, a separation device to separate inert solids from the organic material to produce a liquid stream with low concentrations of suspended solids, and a “high rate” biological treatment device to produce methane from the liquid stream. In a second embodiment, the system includes a pre-thickening device to minimize feed volume by pre-thickening prior to thermal treatment a thermal input device, a reaction device, and a solids separation device to selectively remove dense, inert particles from the thermally treated organic material prior to anaerobic biological treatment, with waste biosolids from anaerobic treatment being recycled to the pre-thickening device.

摘要： One embodiment of an apparatus and method for treating agricultural animal wastewater that costs less to build, is easy to operate, and requires little energy input. The method employs natural systems for wastewater treatment; an initial anaerobic digestion treatment followed by batch floating aquatic plant treatment. The batch floating aquatic plant treatment of effluent and subsequent batch discharge provides increased control of the treatment process. Opportunistic collection and use of biogas and floating aquatic biomass results in additional benefits. The apparatus reduces the cost and land area required for the system by subdividing a lagoon into an anaerobic digestion treatment zone below the apparatus and a floating aquatic plant treatment zone above the apparatus. In addition, the apparatus is disposed in the lagoon in such a way that it facilitates the collection of biogas evolving from anaerobic digestion treatment beneath the apparatus by diverting it to areas to be collected.

A heater is arranged to heat up the reactor and its content. A first feeding pipe is coupled to the reactor to feed water and salt solution into the reactor. A second feeding pipe is coupled to the reactor to feed to biomass into the reactor. A discharge pipe is coupled to the reactor to discharge gaseous products from the reactor. An outlet is proved in the bottom of the reactor for removing portions of the molten salt.

摘要： This invention pertains to a bio-mass processing system, and method of processing waste bio-mass, wherein one or more mixers mixes a bed of bio-mass material such as manure at substantially any and all locations in length and width portion of the bed, in a dryer. Heated air percolates upwardly through the bed. Separation apparatus separates a relatively dryer fraction of the bio-mass material from the dryer. The separated finished product from the dryer is optionally fed to a boiler where the dried bio-mass material is burned. Heat of combustion from the boiler is used as dryer heat for drying the bio-mass feed material in the dryer. Excess heat is optionally used to produce steam, which powers a turbine, which powers an electrical generator. Residual ash from the combustion process comprises about 2% by weight of the solids content of e.g. a feed stream coming into the dryer.

摘要： A materials treatment system which initially separates liquid and solid components with a separator. The system can be advantageously utilized for household sewage handling, however various components have other applications. Once the separator separates the solids and liquids, a fire tube combusts the solids with microwaves. The liquids exiting the separator are treated in a liquid treatment system which includes additional particle filtration/separation, treatment of the liquids with an oxidant liquid, and an ultraviolet treatment. An advantageous microwave cavity assembly is also provided for dehydration/combustion of solids exiting the separator and/or for solids filtered from liquids in the liquid treatment system.
