    • The present invention provides an apparatus for controlling an actuator for adjusting the opening and closing of an air intake valve that adjusts the opening and closing timing of the air intake valve according to an operation condition of an engine so as to optimize the air intake inflow amount and controls the degree of the opening and closing of the air intake valve by using two sensing components competitive in price so as to improve the precision of actuator control while allowing the design of an inexpensive structure. The apparatus for controlling an actuator for adjusting the opening and closing of an air intake valve includes an input shaft that is connected to a motor and is driven to rotate in a forward direction or a reverse direction; an output shaft that is provided to rotate in conjunction with the input shaft and has one end portion connected to the air intake valve so as to perform an opening and closing operation on the air intake valve; a magnet unit that is provided in the other end portion of the output shaft to rotate with the output shaft and has multiple magnets which are disposed with different polarities alternating on a concentric circle at a predetermined angle desired for rotation angle control; and a control unit that is provided on one side of the magnet unit and detects a change in polarity of the magnet as the magnet unit rotates with a first Hall sensor and a second Hall sensor disposed in the section of rotation of the magnet, one of the first Hall sensor and the second Hall sensor being positioned in a central portion of the one adjacent polarity in a case where the other one of the first Hall sensor and the second Hall sensor is positioned at a boundary part of the different polarities.

    • A variable valve timing unit control method is provided to control rapidly a variable valve timing unit because the electromagnetic clutch is controlled according to the active current. A variable valve timing unit control method comprises: a step(S220) which calculates the difference between a current cam shaft phase angle and a target phase angle; a step(S230) which determines whether the difference between the current cam shaft phase angle and the target phase angle is greater than a set value or not; a step(S240) which calculates a basis torque(Tb) based on the target phase angle when the difference between the current cam shaft phase angle and the target phase angle is greater that the set value; a step(S280) which calculates a valid torque(Teff) by modifying the basis torque according to the RPM of the engine and engine oil temperature; and a step(S290) which calculates the active current corresponding to the valid torque.
