    • PURPOSE: Suspension control apparatus using a camera and a method thereof are provided to actively control suspension using the information about external surroundings which is obtained by a camera. CONSTITUTION: Suspension control apparatus using a camera comprises a camera module(110) and a control unit(120). The camera module perceives road condition and location based on the video taken by a camera installed in a vehicle, and detects a cross point of lanes and shadow areas from the video. The camera module determines that the vehicle drives on an uphill road if the detected cross point is above the horizon, while the camera determines that the vehicle drives on a flat road if the detected cross point is below the horizon. The control unit uses the speed and the height of the vehicle along with the obtained information by the camera to control the suspension of the vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A method for compensating a roll angle comprises the follow steps: recording a first image(32) using a camera and deciding a coordinate of two or more feature points(30) of the first image; recording a second image using the camera and deciding a coordinate of two or more specific points of the second image; deciding two real displacement vector(IV_1, IV_3) according to the decided coordinate of the first and second images; deciding two model displacement vector(MV_N) according to movement of a car between the first image and the second image; deciding a reference vector by modeling the displacement of the specific points from the first image to the second image; and deciding a roll angel according to the decided reference vector.
