    • PURPOSE: A starter generator is provided to install a rotor angle sensor and a pulse sensor of brushless dynamo-electric machine in a compact space, while improving angle detecting accuracy. CONSTITUTION: A generator(1) also serving as a starter is composed of a stator(50) arranged around a crankshaft(201) and an outer rotor(60) fixed to the crankshaft and having a magnet(62) opposed to the outer periphery of the stator. A crank angle sensor(29) and a pulse sensor(30) integrally housed in a sensor case(28) are arranged on the inner periphery of the stator. A magnet ring(33) is fitted in the outer periphery of a hub(60a) of the rotor. The crank angle sensor and the pulse sensor are integrally arranged and miniaturized, and the sensors are installed on the stator, and since position accuracy of the rotor angle sensor and the stator is improved, angle position detecting accuracy of the rotor is improved.

    • PURPOSE: A vehicle mounted with an engine control system is provided in which a discharge of battery caused by a continued lighting of the headlight during stoppage of the vehicle is prevented while allowing an idling mode of the vehicle after an elapse of a predetermined time period. CONSTITUTION: A vehicle comprises a headlight operated by a power supplied from a battery, an engine stoppage/starting control unit having a first operation pattern for inhibiting ignition control of the engine during stoppage of the vehicle so as to disable an idling and a second operation pattern for permitting ignition control of the engine during stoppage of the vehicle so as to enable an idling, a timer for counting a stoppage time period with the headlight lightened in the first operation pattern, and an operation pattern converting unit for converting the operation pattern of the engine stoppage/starting control unit into the first operation pattern in response to a predetermined stoppage condition and into the second operation pattern when the stoppage time period counted by the timer reaches a predetermined level.
