    • PURPOSE: A torsion beam suspension is provided to reduce the stress in the jointed portion between a trailing arm and a torsion beam by increasing the twisting strength and reducing the warping. CONSTITUTION: A left spindle supports a left wheel of rear wheels to be rotatable. A right spindle supports a right wheel of the rear wheels to be rotatable. A left trailing arm(20) is arranged lengthwise and combined with the left spindle. A right trailing arm(20) is arranged lengthwise and combined with the right spindle. A left bush connects the other side of the left trailing arm with a chassis. A right bush connects the other side of the right trailing arm with the chassis. A torsion beam(40) connects both trailing arms. The torsion beam has U shaped opened portions having openings in the rear side of the chassis. Both opening portions have expanded opening portions to be closed to the rear side of the chassis when the openings are forward the trailing arms. Ribs(70) are installed in the expanded opening portions to have closed sectional portion to be expanded toward the training arms. Thereby, the stress is minimized.

The first and second vehicle body coupling ends(8,9) are assembled with bushes and located at an interval to be connected to a chassis frame. The knuckle coupling end(10) is positioned on the other side of the first and second vehicle body coupling ends and welded with the hollow connector. A coupling shaft(5a) of a ball stud(5) penetrates through the knuckle coupling end from a knuckle(2) mounted on an axle assembly(1), and a nut(6) is coupled to the protruding part of the coupling shaft.
