    • A display device is provided to reduce a leak current of a TFT(Thin Film Transistor) of a pixel due to backlight or external light, thereby improving the display quality of an LCD, by forming a light shielding layer below a semiconductor layer. A plurality of pixels are formed on a first substrate(100). Each of the pixels includes a gate line(20) crossing a semiconductor layer(10) with a gate insulation layer(11) therebetween, a drain line(17) connected to a drain region(10d) through a first contact hole(C1) and covering an upper portion of the semiconductor layer extended from a crossing portions, and a source electrode(18) connected to a source region(10s) through a second contact hole(C2) and covering the upper portion of the semiconductor layer extended from the crossing portion. A light shielding layer(12) is formed below the semiconductor layer with a buffer layer(13) therebetween. The light shielding layer shields the semiconductor layer from light.
