    • PURPOSE: A drive system and a control method of a train set are provided to reduce noise generated from an engine when a train set is started from or stopped at a station. CONSTITUTION: A drive system of a train set comprises engines (2a, 2b, 2c), generators (3a, 3b, 3c), converters (4a, 4b, 4c), inverters (5a, 5b, 5c), auxiliary power units (7a, 7b, 7c), and AC motors (8a, 8b, 8c). The converters convert AC power outputted from the generators into DC power. The inverters invert the outputted DC power into AC power having variable voltage and variable frequency. The auxiliary power units supply the DC power to auxiliary devices. The AC motors are powered by the inverters.     • PURPOSE: An electric vehicle and a method for controlling battery charging thereof are provided to minimize power consumption by blocking power from an entire system excluding a part detecting a voltage in a battery after charging completion. CONSTITUTION: A battery charger(140) is connected to external power supply to charge a high pressure battery. A VCM(Vehicle Control Module)(130) controls the connection of the high pressure battery and the battery charger. A BMS(Battery Management System)(190) manages the state of the high pressure battery by supplying an operation voltage from the high pressure battery or charging the high pressure battery. A voltage detecting part(160) transmits a detected charging state to the battery management system by detecting the charging state of the high pressure battery. The battery charger includes a battery charger controller for controlling the operation of a power saving mode which minimizes power consumption.
