    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a differential apparatus for a vehicle capable of accurately controlling differential restricting torque, and miniaturizable in the axial direction in the whole apparatus.
      SOLUTION: This differential apparatus has a differential mechanism 2 having a planetary carrier 2A, planetary gears 2B, 2B, etc., a sun gear 2C and an internal gear 2D, and an output mechanism 3 having a pilot clutch 3B for restricting differential of the differential mechanism 2. The differential mechanism 2 has a boss part 20D capable of moving the internal gear 2D in the gear axis direction, and the output mechanism 3 has a cam mechanism 3C for transmitting pressing force in the gear axis direction via the boss part 20D and the planetary carrier 2A to the planetary gears 2B, 2B, etc. and the sun gear 2C, by receiving and converting torque transmitted via the pilot clutch 3B from the differential mechanism 2 into the pressing force in the gear axis direction.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a differential gear for a vehicle having a large differential limit force. SOLUTION: This differential gear is provided with a housing 2 rotated and driven with a rotary axis line L as a center, a pair of sun gears 3, 4 rotatably arranged in the housing 2 with the rotary axis line as a center, and at least a pair of mutually-engaged planetary gears 5, 6 arranged in the housing 2 to be rotated on their axes while being engaged with the sun gears 3, 4, respectively. The sun gears 3, 4 and the planetary gears 5, 6 are provided with spiral gears. Between the sun gears 3, 4, a main clutch 8 composed of a friction clutch is provided. When an electric current passes through an electromagnet 9, the first and second clutch discs of the main clutch 8 are press-contacted with each other, and friction resistance limiting the relative rotation of the sun gears 3, 4 is generated between them.
