SOLUTION: The motor with a brake, capable of directly transmitting rotation force to a rotor 4 to rotate the rotor in a specified direction, is equipped with a brake mechanism for stopping the rotor while being positioned at a specified position relative to stators 2a, 2b after the rotation of the rotor is braked. The brake mechanism is provided with a thin plate like disk plate 10 fixed to the rotor and braking members 12, 14 disposed on the disk plate so as to face each other in a press-contact manner, wherein one braking member 12 is fixed to the upper stator 2b, while the other braking member 14 is fixed to a piston 16. In this case, when hydraulic pressure acts on the piston, a support member 18 supporting the piston is deformed elastically, thereby the piston, and one braking member are move toward the other braking member.
