SOLUTION: This braking device for constraining rotation of the travelling wheels provided in the travelling device of the travelling crane is provided with a pair of links 24 and 25 fitted to the travelling device through a pair of support point shafts 23 crossing an axle 22 of the travelling wheel 15b, brake pads 26 provided in each of short links 24a and 25a of the links 24 and 25 to pinch a disk-like rotating part A of the travelling wheel 15a, and an expansion device 30 connected between long links 24b and 25b of the links 24 and 25 and provided with a built-in coil spring 28 for expanding between the long links 24b and 25b and a built-in piston 2 for compressing the coil spring 28 in series to each other.

In addition, a pedestal 59 is installed on a base plate 1 just under the stopper, and a pinion 61 is externally fitted in an upper end of the adjusting bolt 56 via a one-way clutch so as to make the bolt 56 rotatable only in a direction tightening it downward, and it is engaged with the pinion 61 with the specified backlash and a rack 57 extending in the rocking direction of the brake lever 3A is supported from the side of the base plate 1.
