    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric brake device capable of easily releasing the operation of a parking brake even when the distribution of electric current to a coil of an actuator is stopped. SOLUTION: A plunger 64 of an actuator 60 is connected through a pin 68 to a pivot arm 52 to which an engaging pawl 54 engageable with a tooth portion 57 of a ratchet 50 is pivotably attached, and a lower surface 68a (force-receiving portion) of the pin 68 is adapted to receive an upward force applied by a tool inserted through a bolt hole 120 threadably engaged with a watertight bolt 121. When the parking brake is operated (engaging pawl 54 is engaged with tooth portion 57), if supply of current to the coil becomes impossible, the pin 68 is moved upward by means of the tool 122.
