    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently perform a buildup welding on an opening and a surface of a base metal with respect to the base metal having the opening.SOLUTION: A welding method is provided for performing continuous buildup welding on an inner surface 1a of a base metal 1, an inner surface 2a of an opening 2 formed in the base metal 1, and a cut surface R formed to extend from the inner surface 1a of the base metal 1 to the inner surface 2a of the opening 2. The method includes: a step of pre-molding a protrusion 3 having a tack welding surface 3a that is evenly continuous with the inner surface 1a of the base metal 1 extending toward the center C of the opening 2 and having the cut surface R embedded therein, on the base metal 1; followed by a step of performing a first buildup welding 5 for juxtaposing bands of a prescribed width on the inner surface 1a of the base metal 1 and on the tack welding surface 3a; followed by a step of forming the cut surface R by cutting the protrusion 3 along with a portion of the first buildup welding 5 so as to follow the contour of the inner surface 2a of the opening 2; and followed by a step of performing a second buildup welding on the inner surface 2a of the opening 2 and on the cut surface R along the contour of the inner surface 2a of the opening 2 so as to be continuous with the first buildup welding 5.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of repairing the bottom head penetration part of a vessel capable of reducing the time for which an operator must resides in a high radiation area. SOLUTION: The bottom head penetration part of the reactor vessel includes a tube fixed to the inner wall of the bottom head of the vessel by internal weld beads and projecting to the outside of the bottom head to form a groove part. The method includes a step of preparing a mockup for the bottom head penetration part of the vessel to be repaired, a step of disposing the mockup in the area where radiation is not present, a step of fixing two half inserts each having a profile corresponding to the profile of half of the groove part into the groove part of the mockup, a step of automatically forming weld beads by remote control in the groove part of the mockup again, a step of performing dimensional inspection after the weld beads are confirmed, and a step of automatically forming the weld beads directly in the groove part of the bottom head penetration part of the vessel to which two half inserts are fixed and which is to be repaired.
