    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wet electric dust collector and an exhaust gas treatment method for enhancing removal performance of SOand dust with a simpler device.SOLUTION: A wet electric dust collector comprises an electric field formation part 11 having a first electrode 20 and a second electrode 21 for forming an alternating electric field. The first electrode 20 is a plate, and has a plurality of discharge electrodes 23 on a surface opposed to the second electrode 21. The second electrode 21 comprises a discharge frame 24, a first plate part 25a and a second plate part 25b. The first plate part 25a is arranged in a position opposed to the discharge electrodes 23 of the first electrode 20. The second plate part 25b is provided with a plurality of discharge electrodes 23 on a surface opposed to the first electrode 20. The discharge electrodes 23 alternately generate corona discharge of mutually reverse polarity in an orthogonal direction to a flowing direction of gas, and alternately impart electric charge of the mutually reverse polarity to mist and dust. The first electrode 20 and the first plate part 25a collect the charged mist and dust.
