    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a large multi-cylinder two-cycle diesel engine having the same performance as that of a conventional engine of this type as well as reduced or unchanged weight and size.
      SOLUTION: The cross head type of large multi-cylinder two-cycle diesel engine comprises a number of crank-through two-crank shafts 1 mutually joined to main journals 5 supported by main bearings. Each crank-through has two arms 3 connected to each other via a crank pin 4. The arm 3 is joined to the relating main journal 5 with the shrink fitting of the end of the main journal to a hole portion of the arm 3. Bearing portions of the main journals 5 can be individually designed at lengths M

      n+x . A cylinder pitch and a main bearing pitch are variable and individually adaptable to the crank through 2 and the main bearing 5.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crosshead type two-stroke diesel engine, whose engine frame is compact, solid, firm, easy-to-assemble.
      SOLUTION: The crosshead type two-stroke diesel engine has a base plate 2 and the weld engine frame 9. The engine frame has a top plate 11 under which a cylinder liner 12 is put. The engine frame is provided with side stiffening members 13. Each crosshead 8 has four guide faces 14. Two of the four guide faces 14 are attached to the side stiffening member 13 of a side of the corresponding crosshead 8. Other two of the four guide faces are attached to the side stiffening member 13 of the other side in longitudinal direction of the corresponding crosshead 8. Upper parts 16 of the guide faces 14 supported by the side stiffening members 13 longitudinally opposed to each other are mutually connected.
