    • PURPOSE:To accurately detect a yaw rate in a simple manner with no use of a steering angle sensor by computing the weighted means of the detected value and the zero value so as to renew the zero value when the difference between the detected value of the yaw rate and the zero value is in a specified range at the time of vehicle running. CONSTITUTION:Respective detection outputs from a vehicle speed sensor 10 and a yaw rate sensor 12 are inputted into an ECU 14 so that the quantity of steering for a vehicle is thereby operated. On the other hand, specified control signals based on the results of operations are outputted from the ECU 14 to a drive circuit 16 and an actuator 18 respectively so that rear wheels are thereby steered. In this case, the yaw rate is operated by the ECU 14 based on the zero value. And when the difference between the detected value of the yaw rate and the zero value is in a specified range, the weighted means of the detected value of the yaw rate and the zero value is computed in such a way that much more emphasis is given to the zero value, and the zero value is concurrently renewed based on the result of the aforesaid computation. This thereby allows the yaw rate to be accurately detected with no use of a steering angle sensor.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently warm-up an engine and a catalyst device in a vehicle provided with an engine and a catalyst device (EHC) of the electric heating type.SOLUTION: In the vehicle that includes an engine and the EHC, when performing warming-up of the engine an EHC, ECU makes the EHC unenergized, while performing the catalyst warming-up control to promote the catalyst warm-up by lagging the angle of the ignition timing of the engine when engine water temperature THw is less than the temperature T1. Meanwhile, the ECU makes the EHC energized, while performing the engine warming-up control to promote the engine warm-up by advancing the angle of the ignition timing of the engine when the engine water temperature THw is not less than the temperature T1. In addition, an intermittent stop of the engine is prohibited by the ECU, when the engine water temperature THw is less than the temperature T2, and when the engine water temperature THw is not less than the temperature T2, the intermittent stop of the engine is permitted.
