    • PURPOSE:To line up the tip of bar stocks and to improve the quality by transferring respective stocks in the longitudinal direction after transferring the stocks in the lateral direction orthogonal to the longitudinal direction, detecting the stock tips at a prescribed position, and lifting the detected stocks to stop transfer of the stocks. CONSTITUTION:Hot, round billets are delivered from a rolling mill and are cut by a hot shear. Cut stocks 8 are guided to a cooling bed and are recessed parts of row charger 5, 6. The movable row changer 6 to laterally transfer the stocks 8 between row changer 5, 6 by cam action. The stocks 8 are cooled and are transferred into grooves of a rotating alignment roller 22 from the row changer 6. Then, the stocks 8 are transferred to a guide roller 26; at the time of a tip 9 contacting with the roller 26, a sensor 28 detects the contact and sends a contact signal to a controller 30 to give a command to a switch of a cylinder 32. A rod arm 33 and an arm 45 are projected to separate the stocks 8 from the roller 22 to stop their motion and the stocks 8 are cut in a succeeding stage. Hence, the tips are accurately lined up at a prescribed position because a touch sensor is installed in every groove.

    • PURPOSE:To form a trough into a top-closed, bottom-open type, in order to permit the material introduced into the trough to fall down, and to enable the high speed rolling work for a round steel bar, by combining a slit cover with a pipelike trough provided with a slit, and by rotatably supporting the trough. CONSTITUTION:The rolled material is cut by the cutting machine on the run-out side of the final rolling mill for rolling a thin round steel bar. Next, the first material 3 is introduced into either the left or the right trough 11 by the shifter in front of the long trough 11. Next material is introduced into another adjoining trough 11, and then, the first trough 11 is turned around through a lever 9 projecting out of the shaft 8 and swivel arms 10, 12. The first material 3 is dropped into the first channel 6 of the cooling bed 4, and the second material is dropped into the second adjoining channel 6. During this period, the third material is introduced into the vacant trough 11; thus the similar procedure is repeated. Hereupon, even if the trough 11 made of a steel pipe is substituted by an angle 18, a similar effect can be attained. Besides, it is also possible to install the trough 11' parallelly below the trough 11.

    • PURPOSE:To contrive the stabilization of the loop, and to prevent generation of the crook and pig tail, by arranging an inclined floor whose angle of inclination is adjustable in the looper installed between two stands for carrying out the tension-free rolling work. CONSTITUTION:When the material 2, rolled by the upstream mill, is fed to the downstream mill, and a loop is formed, the manipulating cylinder 14 works to open the opening-and-closing trough 8; hereby, the loop drops onto the inclined looper floor 5 and is supported by the surface of this inclined looper floor 5. Since the angle of inclination of the inclined lopper floor 5 is preset at an angle suitable for the shape of the material 2 by the adjuster 7, the loop is stably supported; besides, since the support rolls 9 are arranged for preventing the generation of a crook in the loop, the material 2 does not cause any deformation nor suffers any damage, even if the amount of the loop becomes large.
