    • PURPOSE:To secure the working precision of a machine tool by preventing the thermal deformation of a hollow constitution member due to the difference of the temperature response speed in the same member for the change of the outside air temperature by charging liquid into the hollow part of the hollow constitution member. CONSTITUTION:When a temperature difference is generated between the parts of a constitution member 21, natural convection is generated in the liquid 22 in a hollow part by the change of liquid density. Since the heat transfer from the high-temperature part of the constitution member 21 to the low-temperature part through the liquid 22 in the hollow part by the natural convection in this case, the generated temperature difference is offset, and the max. temperature difference generated between the parts of the constitution member 21 is kept at a small value. Further, by charging liquid into the hollow part of the constitution member 21, the heat capacity of the liquid 22 is added, and the same effect to the increase of the body thickness of the constitution member 21 can be obtained, and the following of the temperature of the constitution member 21 to the change of the outside air temperature can be suppressed, and also the temperature difference generated between the parts of the constitution member 21 is reduced, and the thermal deformation can be suppressed, and a machine tool having a high precision can be obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the transporting and treating efficiency of sludge by running dredging sludge on the sand layers on an open channel wherein the sand layers are laid on the grids of having the finely meshed bottoms, concentrating the sludge and scraping the deposited sludge with a scraper device. CONSTITUTION:Sea bottom sludge 12 is sucked up through a suction mouth 2, passes through a drag arm 3 and a pipe 6, and is concd. in an open channel 7. The sludge is charged by distributing flow passages 8 into sludge tanks 9. When the sludge of a high water content in per cent of dry weight is run in the channel 7 for a certain specified time, the sludge deposits on the upper parts of the sand layers, and clogging phenomena occur. Therefore, the deposited sludge on the top surfaces of the sand layers is scraped by a scraper 18 and is displaced to the down stream side at predetermined time intervals. In the bottom part of the channel 7, coarse sand is laid as lower layers on the grids of fine meshes and sand of small grain sizes are laid thereupon as upper layers, which layers are constituted respectively to suitable thicknesses.

    • PURPOSE:To measure the degree of packing in a mold nondestructively by pressing and placing positive and negative electrode terminals on the surface of facing sand after the manufacture of the mold and measuring the electric resistance value of the facing sand. CONSTITUTION:The pattern surface of a mold is formed of facing sand 3 prepd. by mulling beforehand a suitable amt. of powder consisting of a conductive material. Positive and negative electrode terminals 6 are pressed at constant intervals on the surface of the facing sand 3 of the mold after hardening. If electricity is conducted thereto with a measuring device 8, electric current flows in the surface or in the inside of the facing sand between the terminals 6, and the electric resistance value corresponding to said parts is indicated by the deflection of the meter of the device 8. When the degree of packing increases in the case of the mold, the electric resistance value decreases and when said degree decreases, the electric resistance value increases and therefore, it is possible to measure the degree packing by measuring the electric resistance value.

CONSTITUTION:A belt 1 made of rubber, plastic or steel provides bulkheads 2 which are shorter than the width of the belt in their length at their determined intervals, and arcuate at their both ends. And when the conveyed objects are loaded and delivered, the belt 1 is flatly maintained, and the belt 1 is gradually reshaped starting at their end parts on the way to convey them so that the belt 1 is brought to come alongside the side lines of the bulkheads. In consequence, when the belt 1 is to be flattened, a horizontal roll 4 is arranged under the belt 1, and when the belt 1 is reshaped, a tilting roll 5 is arranged on the both sides of the belt 1. Thus, the conveyed objects can be not alone simplified in their loading and delivery, but also prevented from falling off.

    • PURPOSE:To enable the easy manufacture of a smooth circumferential joint by directing the frame, which is mounted with one pressure roll in precedence to a welding torch and each one on the right and left and the torch, to the weld line direction by a rotation-driving means. CONSTITUTION:Three rolls 5, 6, 6 are provided on the bottom surface of the frame 19 suspended to a pipe making device frame 18 by way of a hydraulic cylinder 10, rotary frame 11 and support rod 29, and a welding torch 7 is fixed on the centerline of the triangular spacing formed by said rolls 5, 6, 6. When a steel strip 2' being coiled in the state having camber comes, oil pressure is exerted to the top of the rod of the cylinder 10 to lower the frame 19 and let the rolls 5, 6, 6 contact the steel plate 2'. Further, oil pressure is applied to hydraulic cylinders 29, 23, 23 to press the rolls 5, 6, 6 onto the steel plate 2' to eliminate camber and allow the steel plate make sufficiently close contact with the underlayer, after which welding is started, whereby the steel plate 2' being subsequently coiled in spiral form is continuously automatically welded.
