摘要： PURPOSE:To provide a golf club head having a face plate and/or a sole part with high dimension precision, stiffness and resilience to a ball. CONSTITUTION:At least one of a face plate part 3 and a sole part 4 of this golf club head is formed with a fiber reinforced composite material which is made by uniformly dispersing ceramic particles and alumina short fiber in a metal matrix. After mixing the ceramic particles and the short fiber with a main component of alumina and forming a preform for the face plate part or the sole part, the perform is independently casted and jointed to a head main body 2 or casted integrally with the head main body in casting. Thus, the ceramic particles and alumina short fiber are dispersed in the matrix and required dimension stability, stiffness and impact resistance are obtained.

摘要： PURPOSE:To improve cutting performance for a fiber reinforced metal by including ceramic fibers, ceramic particles and carbon fibers in a piston which is formed by a metal impregnated with reinforced fibers. CONSTITUTION:A fiber reinforced metal made piston 1 has a head part 1A and a skirt part 1B, and has, between 1A and 1B a boss part IC in which a piston pin to support a connecting rod is inserted and also a plurality of ring grooves 1D are formed on the head part 1A. In such a piston 1, the head part 1A is formed to a preform 5 which is a fiber reinforcing material formed by ceramic fibers 2 (aluminum fiber, etc.), ceramic particles 3 (cordierite particle, etc.) and carbon fibers 4, by fiber reinforced metal impregnated with aluminium alloy 6 for casting acting as a base material. Further, the other piston parts are formed by the aluminium alloy 6. Thus, the manufacture and work process of the piston 1 are facilitated.

摘要： PURPOSE:To suppress degradation in machining quality and to increase the volumetric rate of reinforcing fibers in a fiber reinforced metallic part by impregnating a preform for reinforcement consisting of ceramic fibers previously formed with a ring groove with molten metal and press forming this preform. CONSTITUTION:The preform 5 is formed by putting alumina fibers 2, cordierite particles 3 and carbon fibers 4 into a cylindrical vessel of water spraying molding machine, dissolving the mixture in a solvent, pressurizing the mixture, removing soln. moisture from the orifice, taking the molding out of the vessel and drying and calcining the molding, thereby molding the preform as a sponge form. The ring groove ID, etc., are machined in the calcined circular preform 5 and is shaped to a prescribed shape. Such preform 5 is set in metal molds for molding a piston and an aluminum alloy of the molten metal is poured into the metal molds. The molten metal is press formed by a plunger formed with the inner shape of the piston in a pressurizing and impregnating stage. As a result, the preform 5 is impregnated with the molten aluminum alloy, by which the preform 5 and the aluminum alloy are combined.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a cylinder liner made of a particle dispersion type short fiber reinforcement compound alloy providing favorable slide characteristics with high strength, rigidity and size stabilization and a cylinder block providing a cylinder bore part made of said particle dispersion type short fiber reinforcement compound alloy and the manufacturing method thereof. SOLUTION: A cylinder liner or a sleeveless cylinder bore part in which an alumina short fiber whose main component is a seramic particle and alumina is dispersed in a light metal matrix is provided. A pre-form for the cylinder liner or a cylinder bore corresponding part is formed by mixing the seramic particle with a short fiber whose main component is alumina. At the casting time, a melted light metal is soaked in the cave of the pre-form. If the strength and rigidity of the pre-form itself is high and a high size stabilization is provided after soaking and also the seramic particle is a hollow body, a sliding characteristic becomes favorable, as it is applied as a lubrication sump.

CONSTITUTION:An aq. slurry contg. ceramic fibers (alumina, mullite, etc.), single-crystalline ceramic particles having >=10mum average particle diameter (alumina, silicon carbide, etc.), a binder, a flocculant and a pH adjusting agent is prepd., molded with a drainage press molding machine, dried and fired to form a preform. At this time, the amt. of the ceramic particles and that of the ceramic fibers are regulated to about 10-40vol.% and 5-30vol.% of the amt. of the preform, respectively. The preform is preheated and a molten metal (Al) is impregnated into the preform to produce the objective ceramic reinforced metal. The ceramic fibers and ceramic particles can be uniformly dispersed in the molten metal and the ceramic reinforced metal excellent in wear resistance is easily obtd.

摘要： PURPOSE:To manufacture a consistent quality molding easily and continuously by allowing a mold to rotate at two different speeds: low rotational speed to make a molding material stick uniformly to the inside face of a molding and a high speed to dehydrate the molding material. CONSTITUTION:A mold in which the ratio of the area of drain holes to that of a surface is 0.1 to 1.0% and the diameter of an individual hole is 0.1 to 5mm is used. Dehydrating molding is performed by making a mold rotate around the central axis. Dehydrating molding is performed in two stages, first at a low rotational speed and then at a high rotational speed. Practically a total amount of a molding material is deposited from slurry and stuck to the inside face of the mold at an even thickness during a low rotational speed. In consequence, a reinforced tubular molding of consistent quality can be obtained easily even if accurate molding conditions and a complex type of equipment are not used.
