    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molten iron production method capable of stably improving the productivity of the molten iron in its production using an iron bath type melting furnace while preventing troubles such as solidification of the molten iron and slag caused by temperature degradation when tapping them.
      SOLUTION: The method includes a melting step in which the iron source B as a raw material, a carbon material C and a slag-making material D are charged into the melting furnace 1 while blowing an inert gas A through a bottom-blown tuyere 7 to stir the molten metal, and an oxygen-containing gas E is top-blown through the top-blown lance 5, whereby the iron source B is melted by combustion heat generated by burning the carbon material C and the carbon in the molten iron to produce the molten iron and slag.
