Respective screw-feeders are arranged side-by-side along the axial direction of one pair of the rolls, and the extended lines of the center axes of respective screw-feeders pass through the gap.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for quantitatively and stably drop-feeding a powdery raw material deaerated naturally to a horizontal screw of a roller compactor, which prevents a shaft sealing member from being deteriorated by the raw material and eliminates the possibility that an abrasive powder or a lubricant is mixed into the raw material side.
      SOLUTION: A roller compactor 1 is provide with: a raw material hopper 6 incorporating a horizontal shaft rotary vanes 7; a horizontal shaft 8, which penetrates a mounting wall face 11, and to whose front end the horizontal shaft rotary vanes 7 is fixed; a bearing part 9, which is arranged outside the mounting wall and holds the horizontal shaft; a shaft sealing member 18 arranged on the bearing part; and a horizontal screws 4, 4' for sending a powdery raw material G fed from the raw material hopper to compacting rolls 2, 2'. In the roller compactor 1, a partition wall 15 is insertedly set with the horizontal shaft 8 extending through it, so that the inside of the raw material hopper 6 is partitioned into a raw material storage part 19 and a narrowed part 17 in the side of the mounting wall face.
