    • PURPOSE:To secure squareness between a die and a drive shaft with high accuracy by mounting an abrasive disc onto the drive shaft after a cutting blade has been removed from the aforesaid shaft, advancing the drive shaft while the abrasive disc is simultaneously brought into contact with the die, and thereby polishing the surface of the die. CONSTITUTION:When a die 1 is repolished, bolts threadedly fitted onto a drive shaft 5 are removed first, a cutting blade 1 is pulled out of the drive shaft 5 together with a holder 7, and the holder 25 of the abrasive disc 23 is outwardly fitted in the drive shaft 5 via a coil spring, so that the holder 25 is thereby firmly fixed onto the drive shaft 5 with bolts. In the second place, a water chamber 4 is filled with water (warm water), the die is brought into a condition close to an actual operating one with the die 1 heated, the drive shaft 5 is advanced by an air cylinder 16 thereafter, and the diamond abrasive grains of the abrasive disc 23 are then brought into contact with the surface 1a of the die so that the surface 1a is thereby polished with the drive shaft 5 driven by a motor 11. After polishing the surface 1a of the die has been over as mentioned above, the abrasive disc 23 is removed out of the drive shaft 5, and the cutting blade 6 is then mounted onto the drive shaft 5.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a yield from decreasing by maintaining a quality of a pellet product by preventing pellets from sticking to each other or from being connected in a row at the time of cutting a molten resin.
      SOLUTION: A knife for a pelletizer comprises a cutter surface 19 opposed to a cutting surface 4 of a die plate 3, a cutting blade surface 20 crossing at an acute angle to a front edge of the surface 19 in a rotating direction so as to gradually separate from the surface 4 toward a rearward of the rotating direction, a rake face 21 connected to the blade surface 20 in a state in which the face 21 is inclined in the same direction to the surface 20, and a back surface 22 substantially extended rearward of the rotating direction from a rear edge 21A of the face 21. In this knife, a flank groove 26 recessed to the sectional inside of the knife 15 is formed on the face 21 so as to separate a molten pellet 25 cut by the blade surface 20 from the knife 15 before the pellet 25 arrives at a rear edge 21A of the face 21.
