    • PURPOSE: To obtain a measuring apparatus by which a pressure loss is reduced and whose measuring accuracy is enhanced by a method wherein the transverse width of a support part as the coupling part of a body to a subpassage is made smaller than the transverse width of a part constituting an entrance face in the subpassage. CONSTITUTION: The intake air 9 is supplied to an engine through a main passage 2 and a subpassage 3 which are constituted inside a body 1. A heat-generating resistor 4 and a temperature-sensing resistor 5 which are installed inside the passage 3 are connected electrically to support pins 6 inside a holder part 7, and they are connected to a drive circuit 10 via lead wires 8. On the basis of output signals of the resistors 4, 5, the circuit 10 outputs a signal related to an air flow rate. A member 17 which constitutes the passage 3 is mounted on a module part 18 on which the circuit 10 is installed, and the module part 18 is inserted from a hole in the body 1 so as to be installed at the outer wall part of the body 1. At this time, the transverse width of the holder part 7 is constituted to be smaller than the transverse width of a member constituting an entrance part in the passage 3, and a pressure loss is reduced. In addition, since the quantity of a member covering the support pins 6 is reduced, a wall temperature characteristic is enhanced.

    • PURPOSE: To obtain a measuring apparatus which prevents a subpassage constituent member from falling and whose safety is enhanced by a method wherein a stopper for fall prevention of the subpassage constituent member is installed in an insertion hole at a circuit module part which is installed at a part of a body. CONSTITUTION: The intake air is supplied to an engine through a main passage 2 and a subpassage 3 which are constituted inside a body 1. A heat-generating resistor 4 and a temperature-sensing resistor 5 at the inside of the passage 3 are connected to an electronic circuit 9 via support pins 6 and lead wires 8. On the basis of signals from the resistors 4, 5, the circuit 9 outputs a signal related to an air inflow rate. An insertion hole 19, which is made in the body, at a circuit module part 18 to which a subpassage constituent member 7 is bonded is formed to be a size through which the member 7 can be inserted. A stopper 11 for fall prevention of the member 7 is installed at a part of the insertion hole 19. It does not interfere when the member 7 is inserted. When the member 7 falls, the stopper acts in such a way that the bonding face of the member 7 to the module part 18 does not come off. Thereby, even when the member 7 comes off, it is possible to prevent the member 7 from falling into the passage 2 or the engine.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the error of an air flow rate measuring device caused by the pulsation of an engine.
      SOLUTION: In a system having an EGR system for returning exhaust gases to an intake system, the generated amounts of the pulsation of the engine and a reverse flow are largely changed by the return amount of EGR to the intake system. Since the effect of the pulsation of the engine on the air flow rate measuring device causes an approximately same error under specified conditions (engine rotational speed and EGR return amount), the error of the air flow rate measuring device by the pulsation of the engine can be corrected by a correction table using the rotational speed of the engine and the EGR amount to more accurately control the engine. Since the effect of the pulsation of the engine varied by the return amount of the EGR can be reduced, a highly accurate control can be performed in a diesel engine vehicle having particularly a very large return amount of EGR and having no throttle valve.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a heating resistance-type measuring apparatus in which the flow of a resistor arrangement part on the downstream is changed into a turbulent flow by a method wherein a tripping wire is installed on the upstream of a flat face on which a thermosensitive resistor is arranged or a protrusion which is higher than the surface of the resistor is installed so as to have the same function as the tripping wire. SOLUTION: An element plate 1 is formed of an electric insulating material such as a ceramic or the like whose thermal conductivity is large, and a thermosensitive resistor pattern 2 which is composed of a platinum thin film or the like and an electrode pattern 4 which is connected to a drive circuit are formed on the surface. A tripping wire 3 is arranged on the element plate 1 by a bonding operation or the like in the same length as the pattern 2 in a transverse flow shape at an edge in a direction nearly perpendicular to the flow direction 5 of the air. The tripping wire 3 is formed of a thick member (in a thick wire diameter) with reference to the thickness of the pattern 2, and a structure is formed in such a way that a flow inside a boundary layer is changed into a turbulent flow in a very short approach run section on its downstream.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize the effect of a leak by forming a temperature-sensitive resistor exposed from a holder section and conductors into a structure preventing the infiltration of a liquid when tilted, and providing a counterbore between a pair of conductors of the holder section. SOLUTION: An insertion hole 3 is provided on a body 2 constituting an air passage 1, a temperature-sensitive resistor 4 and a connector section 5 are connected by support pins 6, 6, and the pins 6, 6 are held by a holder section 7. A counterbore 201 is provided at the position of the holder section 7 corresponding to the middle sections of the pins 6, 6, and the creepage distance of the holder section 7 between the pins 6, 6 is extended from the distance 202 to the distance 203. The surface resistance value in parallel with the resistor 4 is increased even when water is stuck, and the effect on the output characteristic of the resistor 4 is reduced. When the counterbore 201 is installed, the occurrence of voids is prevented when the holder section 7 is molded, and an internal leak is prevented. It is effective to form the counterbore 201 to the depth of about 5mm or above from the end face. Temperature can be detected more accurately.
