    • PURPOSE: To reduce the pressure drop by forming a sub-channel of a compositional member having substantially a spherical profile, opening the inlet of the sub-channel in a plane perpendicular to the main flow while opening the outlet substantially in parallel with the main flow, thereby facilitating the arrangement of sub-channel in a main passage. CONSTITUTION: The sub-channel comprises an inlet 301 opened in a plane perpendicular to the direction 17 of main flow in a main passage 5, a channel 302 extending in parallel with the direction 17 and equipped with a heating element 1 inside, a curved part 303 opened in the outer circumferential direction of the channel 302 on the downstream side from the element 1 in order to bypass the flow in the sub-channel, a channel 304 for feeding the flow oppositely to the main flow substantially over the entire outer circumference except the vicinity of supporting member for the channel 302, and an outlet 305 opened in the outer wall face of the compositional member of sub-channel extending substantially in parallel with the main flow. The sub-channel part 400 has substantially spherical overall profile except the supporting part. An electronic circuit 8 is fixed onto a base member 7 while being protected by a circuit housing 9 integrated with a connector 11 and a cover 10. This structure facilitates fixing of the sub-channel.

    • PURPOSE: To obtain a measuring apparatus which prevents a subpassage constituent member from falling and whose safety is enhanced by a method wherein a stopper for fall prevention of the subpassage constituent member is installed in an insertion hole at a circuit module part which is installed at a part of a body. CONSTITUTION: The intake air is supplied to an engine through a main passage 2 and a subpassage 3 which are constituted inside a body 1. A heat-generating resistor 4 and a temperature-sensing resistor 5 at the inside of the passage 3 are connected to an electronic circuit 9 via support pins 6 and lead wires 8. On the basis of signals from the resistors 4, 5, the circuit 9 outputs a signal related to an air inflow rate. An insertion hole 19, which is made in the body, at a circuit module part 18 to which a subpassage constituent member 7 is bonded is formed to be a size through which the member 7 can be inserted. A stopper 11 for fall prevention of the member 7 is installed at a part of the insertion hole 19. It does not interfere when the member 7 is inserted. When the member 7 falls, the stopper acts in such a way that the bonding face of the member 7 to the module part 18 does not come off. Thereby, even when the member 7 comes off, it is possible to prevent the member 7 from falling into the passage 2 or the engine.

    • PURPOSE:To make an aerometer small in size and light in weight and to attain improvement of productivity, reduction of the cost and improvement of precision in measurement. CONSTITUTION:A subordinate air passage 3 for measuring an air flow rate is provided in a main air passage 2. The subordinate air passage 3 is divided into elements A and B. The element A has flow rate detecting elements 6 and 7 and a member 4 constituting these elements is made integral with a circuit module 8 for measuring the flow rate. The member 4 is inserted into the main air passage 2 from a fitting hole 1a provided in the body 1 of an aerometer (the main air passage), and set therein. The element B is a rectangular groove 5 molded integrally with the body 1. The groove is positioned on the downstream side of the member 4 and made fit to the member 4, being covered with a part thereof, and thus the subordinate air passage 3 being bent is formed. The subordinate air passage being bent may also be formed in the member 4 itself, and it is allowed also to form a vertical wall surface on the inner wall of the main air passage 2, in place of the rectangular groove 5, and to make the surface opposite to the wall surface of the exit of the member 4.
