    • PURPOSE:To provide a stepless transmission used in combination with an automatic clutch, which is enabled to prevent reverse rotation of the transmission on a slope or the like, by providing a flywheel for permitting the automatic clutch to rotate only in one direction at a main pulley section connected to the driven side of the automatic clutch. CONSTITUTION:In a transmission consisting of an automatic clutch section 1, a main pulley section 2, a subsidiary clutch section 3, a hydraulic pressure generating section 4, a rotation switching section 5 and a differential gear section 6, a main shaft 17 is supported between a clutch case 7 and a gear case 8 by means of bearings 15, 16, and a work shaft 18 is inserted to the inside of the main shaft 17 in a freely rotatable manner. A clutch disk 14 is spline coupled to the top of the main shaft 17 and a crank shaft 9 is connected to the top of the work shaft 18. Further, a flywheel 19 for permitting the main shaft 17 only in one direction is provided at a position near the bearing 15 between the clutch case 7 and the outer surface of the main shaft 17 so that the main shaft 17 is turned only in the same direction as the crank shaft 9.

    • PURPOSE: To improve fuel consumption and eliminate a transmission loss of a torque convertor, by providing over drive operation with an engine lock-up mechanism not through a torque convertor.
      CONSTITUTION: A trans-axle front wheel drive mechanism 1 is composed of a convertor 2, three-speed automatic transmission gear 3, front wheel final reduction gear 4 interposed therebetween, and valve lock 5 of a hydraulic controller arranged at the lower part of said automatic transmission gear 3. An over drive mechanism 6 is attached to the rear part opposite to the torque convertor 2 of the automatic transmission gear 3. When a vehicle speed is increased and a reverse clutch is engaged, power is input from the sun gears 14a, 14b of a planetary gear 14 at the same time, causing the reverse clutch 17 to be united, whereby a turbine shaft 10 is directly coupled with an output shaft 21.

    • PURPOSE:To plan to miniaturize a device and facilitate an operation by specifying an arrangement of main and sub speed changers for a front-drive automobile. CONSTITUTION:An engine is arranged longitudinally in a front portion of an automobile and a clutch 2, arranged above a first main drive shaft 3 having a same sahft with a crank shaft of the engine, is connected to a fly-wheel 1 coupled to the crank shaft of the engine, while a two-speed sub speed changer S is arranged above a front axle F and a hypoid pinion 3 fixed at a front end of a third main drive shaft 21, behing of which a four-speed main speed changer M is arranged, is engaged with a ring gear 31 for a termainal speed changer. According to this arrangement, a special space for installing the sub speed changer S becomes unnecessary, and also, a shift fork 43 is rotated by an operation of a speed change operating lever and a synchromesh mechanism 12 is engaged with a gear 5, and thereby, the output of the engine is delivered to front wheels directly or with a reduced speed.
