    • PURPOSE:To facilitate the accurate colorimetry of the cylindrical surface by composing the device of a mechanism which moves the center axis of the cylindrical surface in parallel, a color sensor, a light source, and a device which transforms coordinate values in a color space measured on the cylinder surface into coordinate values in a plane. CONSTITUTION:The cylindrical surface 5 as an object of colorimetry has its center axis 6 moved horizontally in parallel by a stage 4. The color sensor 7 is arranged having its view axis perpendicularly to a reference horizontal plane drawn by the movement track of the center axis 6. The light source 8 is fitted so that its optical axis is in a plane which crosses the center axis 6 at right angles and is perpendicular to the reference horizontal plane while crossing the view axis of the sensor 7 on the cylindrical surface 5. Reflected light L2' is converted photoelectrically by the sensor 7, amplified 9, and A/D-converted 10 to input a numeral which is proportional to the quantity of reflected light L2' to a computer 11. The computer 11 transforms the coordinate values in the color space measured by the cylindrical surface 5 into the coordinate values in the color space on the plane by using the relational expression among reflection characteristics of the cylindrical surface 5, the relative position between the cylindrical surface 5 and sensor 7, the ratio of a visual field and the diameter of the cylindrical surface 5, and the quantity of reflected light L2' to the sensor 7.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a calibration value with a small error by performing a digital operation from the image of an object imprinted on a digital image and calibrating the internal parameters of a TV camera for restoring the position of a the object in the three-dimensional space. CONSTITUTION:The coordinate of the image of a gauge mark for calibration which is formed on a column where there is no distortion in the horizontal direction is measured. Data for calibration in the vertical direction is regressed to a regression equation expressing the relation between the three-dimensional coordinates of the gauge mark for calibration corresponding to the column and the coordinates of an image so as to calibrate the internal parameters for three TV cameras, that means, the distance to the image, the distortion coefficient of the image and the vertical coordinate of the center of the image. The coordinate of the image of the gauge mark for calibration which is formed on a row where there is no distortion in a vertical direction is measured. Then, the data for calibration in a horizontal direction is regressed to a regression equation expressing the relation between the three- dimensional coordinates of the gauge mark for calibration corresponding to the row and the coordinates of the image so as to calibrate the width of an area on an image pickup surface corresponding to one picture element in an image memory and the horizontal coordinate of the center of the image. Thus, the calibration is performed with high accuracy even if extremely large distortion is induced by merely obtaining the data for calibration and performing a regression analysis.

    • PURPOSE:To simplify the mechanism, and to execute the processing at a high speed by measuring an optical fiber axial shift component in two directions, or an absolute position of an individual optical fiber, from a single image by a fixed TV camera. CONSTITUTION:A lamp 3 is fixed to an objective lens 2 or a lens barrel 9, and fixed so as to have a specified angle alpha against an optical axis of the objec tive lens 2. Also, an observation system is set to a fusion slicing device 10, so that the optical axis of the objective lens becomes vertical to an arranging direction of an optical fiber which has been set on the weld connecting device 10. An image which has been caught by a TV camera under a specified condi tion is sent to an image processing unit 7 by a cable 8a, analyzed therein, and an axial shift quantity is calculated. In this image processing unit 7, a microprocessor and a memory are contained, and after the processing has been ended, its result is sent to the fusion slicing device 10 through a cable 8b, and based on it, the operation which is executed in the next time is selected by a controller provided in the weld connecting device 10, and the slicing operation is advanced automatically.
