    • PURPOSE: To reduce the size of the light path switching device by switching and connecting a master optical fiber and a light path. CONSTITUTION: Plural multicore optical connectors 10 are arrayed and arranged longitudinally and laterally in two dimensions. A stage 6 is provided with a light path switching head 16 and a fiber switching mechanism 17. A switching and conveying mechanism 15 controls the movement of the stage 16 in the lateral direction, longitudinal direction, and forward and backward directions to convey and move the light path switching head 16 toward a specified multicore optical connector 10. On the top surface of the light path switching head 16, V grooves 20 are formed as many as the light paths of the multicore optical connector 10. The stage 16 is moved in the forward and backward directions to fit the fitting pin 21 in fitting pin holes 14. The fiber switching mechanism 17 moves the master optical fiber 7 in the array direction of the V grooves 20 to the position of the groove 20 of a specified light path 12 to be inspected in order and inserts it into its groove 20, and then connects each light path 12 to the master optical fiber 7, thereby inspecting the light path 12 by an OTDR connected to the side of the master optical fiber 7.

    • PURPOSE:To enable the high-speed switching of an optical fiber connector by mounting an elastic member to the insertion side outside of a connecting sleeve into which the front ends of ferrules housing the respective terminals of optical fibers are inserted from both ends. CONSTITUTION:The front ends of the ferrules 1a, 1b respectively housing the terminals of a pair of the optical fibers are inserted into the connecting sleeve 2 from both ends and the front end faces of the ferrules 1a, 1b are connected within the connecting sleeve 2. The ferrules 1a, 1b are used for housing the terminals of the optical fibers and connecting the optical fibers. The connecting sleeve 2 is molded to a cylindrical shape by using phosphor bronze, etc., having a spring characteristic and has a slit in its longitudinal direction. A flanged spring 3 having a hole to be inserted with the ferrule is mounted to the insertion side outside of the connecting sleeve 2. The ferrule 1b inserted at a high speed is inserted into the connecting sleeve 2 and is decelerated just before the ferrules 1a, 1b are fitted. The end faces of the ferrules are thus connected without damaging the end faces.

    • PURPOSE:To decelerate a ferrule moved at a high speed via friction, prevent a shock from being applied to end faces of ferrules at the time of coupling, and make an optical fiber connection section adaptable to an optical connector switching device operated at a high speed by providing a cushioning member having a large friction coefficient at least on one insertion side inner face of a connecting sleeve. CONSTITUTION:A cushioning member 3 having a large friction coefficient is provided at least on one insertion side inner face of a connecting sleeve 2. The cushioning member 3 is not limited in particular as far as it is a hardly sliding material having a large friction coefficient, and rubber or plastic having large surface roughness can be used, for example. A rubber plate 3 is cylindrically fixed to one insertion side inner periphery of the connecting sleeve 2. A ferrule 1b inserted at a high speed from the right side is applied with friction by the rubber plate 3 and decelerated when it is inserted into the connecting sleeve 2. The connection is completed while end faces of the ferrules 1a, 1b are not damaged.
