摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector and an optical fiber holding body, capable of facilitating assembly work at a work site and stably holding an optical fiber cable.SOLUTION: An optical connector comprises a connector body, and an anchor mechanism for anchoring an optical fiber holding body 53 holding an optical fiber cable 14 to the connector body. The optical fiber holding body 53 enables insertion of the optical fiber cable 14 into an insertion space 27 surrounded by a bottom wall part 23 and side wall parts 24 on the both sides thereof. Side surface holding projections 31 for pressing and holding a cable side surface are formed on the inner surfaces of the side wall parts 24. A distance between the side surface holding projections of the side wall parts on the both sides is a maximum width of the optical fiber cable minus 0.7 (mm) or more, and a minimum width minus 0.2 (mm) or less.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector which can be easily assembled at a working site and can stably hold an optical fiber cable.
SOLUTION: The optical connector includes a connector body and an anchor mechanism which detains the optical fiber cable 14 on the connector body. The anchor mechanism includes an optical fiber holding body 53 which holds the optical fiber cable 14 and an anchor means which detains the optical fiber holding body 53. The optical fiber holding body 53 allows the optical fiber cable 14 inserted into an insertion space 27 surrounded by a bottom wall part 23, sidewall parts 24 and a top wall part 26. Side face holding projections 31 are formed extending in the direction intersecting with the insertion direction of the cable on the inner face of the sidewall parts 24 for pressing and holding the side faces 14b of the cable. Top face holding projections 33 and bottom face holding projections 32 are formed on the inner face of the top wall part 26 and the inner face of the bottom wall part 23, respectively, for pressing and holding, substantially as dots, the upper face 14d and the lower face of the optical fiber cable 14, respectively.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of deterioration in workability/efficiency and need for longer working time, in directly mounting a protective tube 20 on an optical connector at the site of connection, whereas conventional protective tubes are formed cylindrical, causing difficulty in the size and shape for the mounting, and forcing use of an adhesive, a caulking method, or the like.
SOLUTION: The coated optical fiber protective tube is provided with an outer shape that is rectangular in cross section, comprising a long and a short side comparable to a drop optical cable and an indoor optical cable, and is provided with an inserting hole formed longitudinally, having the inside diameter larger than the outside diameter of a coated optical fiber to be inserted therein. Consequently, it makes direct mounting of a coated optical fiber possible on an optical connector that is attachable to these optical cables. Through a simple operation of inserting the protective tube onto the rear part of the optical connector, for example, the coated optical fiber can be surely protected from the end of the optical connector.

SOLUTION: A cantilever-like latch which has a fixed end part on the side, where an optical fiber terminal end face is exposed, is provided on a side face of a plug housing, and an engagement projecting part that is to be locked to an engagement hole formed in an adapter or a receptacle is formed in the vicinity of a center of a latch upper face, and the engagement projecting part has a slope, inclined downwardly toward the fixed end part side of the latch, and the slope is formed so as to be inclined at an angle equal to or larger than the angle of rotation with the fixed end part as a support point, which is required for elastic deformation of the latch. Thus the latch can be detached easily.
