摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector having a latch shape, which allows smooth attaching and detaching operations, while minimizing the thickness of a latch and the clearance of each part, in order to achieve reduction in size and weight.
SOLUTION: A cantilever-like latch which has a fixed end part on the side, where an optical fiber terminal end face is exposed, is provided on a side face of a plug housing, and an engagement projecting part that is to be locked to an engagement hole formed in an adapter or a receptacle is formed in the vicinity of a center of a latch upper face, and the engagement projecting part has a slope, inclined downwardly toward the fixed end part side of the latch, and the slope is formed so as to be inclined at an angle equal to or larger than the angle of rotation with the fixed end part as a support point, which is required for elastic deformation of the latch. Thus the latch can be detached easily.
