    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller for a twin-clutch type automatic transmission capable of enhancing the response when a request for continuous speed change is placed. SOLUTION: The arrangement includes a transmission input shaft wherewith a frictional transmitting mechanism on the side being out of service for establishing the present shift range is coupled, and the speed change controller is equipped with a so-called pre-shifting means to couple the input shaft with a transmission output shaft through a prescribed gear train and put them in the standby state by operating a prescribed synchronous meshing mechanism on the basis of the predicting result of a predicting means, wherein the coupling motion starting timing of the synchronous meshing mechanism owing to the standby control depends on the judgment that the frictional transmitting mechanism on the side being out of service for establishing the present shift range is disengaged whether establishing the present shift range is completed or not.
