    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To hasten the deployment of an airbag without impairing shock absorbing characteristic, even in the airbag with the inside divided into a plurality of chambers. SOLUTION: The inside of the airbag 10 is divided into a first chamber 1 in the center, and a second chamber 2 surrounding the first chamber 1. A vent hole 18 communicating the second chamber 2 with the outside of the airbag is provided on a rear panel 4. The cover member 60 covers the vent hole 18, and is united to a part neat the vent hole on the rear panel 14 by a tear seam 63. The cover member 60 is coupled to an inner panel 22B by a tether 70. In an inflation initial stage of the airbag 10, the vent hole 18 is covered with the cover member 60. When the airbag 10 expands by a predetermined amount or more, the cover member 60 is pulled by the inner panel 22B through the tether 70, and peeled off from the vent hole 18, thereby opening the vent hole 18.
