    • PURPOSE:To measure the variation of cutting torque with high precision by installing a noncontact-type speed detector, retreat-difference calculating circuit connected in series with the speed detector, clock-pulse generator connected to the calculating circuit, and a cutting-torque calculating circuit. CONSTITUTION:If the revolution speed of a main shaft 1 reduces with the increase of cutting resistance during working for a workpiece, the output cycle of a rectangular-wave signal increases in correspondence with the reduction of the revolution speed, and the rectangular-wave signal is converted to an analogue signal by a frequency/voltage converter 7. In other words, a retreat difference calculation circuit 8 connected in series with a noncontact type speed detector 6 is interlocked with a clock pulse generator 10 and calculates the amount of reduction of the number of revolution of the main shaft due to the increase of the cutting time and the cutting torque and transmits the result of calculation as an electric signal. Then, a cutting-torque calculating circuit 9 calculation-processes the transmitted electric signal and transmits the electric signals corresponding to the variation of the cutting torque, and therefore, the torque variation can be measured with high precision.
