    • PURPOSE:To produce inexpensively a channel steel by forming a web part and a pair of flange parts which have the same shape and are connected to each other linearly via projecting parts from a billet and bending the flange parts perpendicularly to the web part. CONSTITUTION:The billet is rolled by calibers 10 of an upper roll 8 and a lower roll 9 to form an intermediate product 2 having the web part 4 and a pair of the flange parts 6 which have the same wall thickness as the size of a product and are connected linearly to each other by projecting parts 6 formed perpendicularly to the points corresponding to corner angle parts 5. Recesses 7 having the radius of curvature of >=2 times the thickness of the parts 3 are preliminarily formed on the rear side of the parts 6. The product 2 is then sandwiched by pinch rollers and the flange parts 3 are stepwise formed by a projecting type roller 13 and a recessed type roller 14 disposed above and below and are thereby made perpendicular to the web part 4 without changing the thickness, by which the channel steel having the flange parts 3 parallel with each other is formed.

    • PURPOSE:To produce inexpensively a channel steel having good quality at high productivity by hot rolling a blank rolling material by means of plural sets of rolling rolls formed with calibers to form inclined flange parts on the outside and a projecting web part then subjecting the blank material to cold forming. CONSTITUTION:A billet 1 heated to a prescribed temp. is rolled by plural sets of rolling rolls which are disposed in parallel with each other, are rotated on at least either thereof by driving devices and are formed with prescribed calibers to form successively the flange parts and the web part. An intermediate product 2 having the W-shaped cross section consisting of a pair of the flange parts 3 inclined respectively toward the outside with respect to the perpendicular and the web part 4 made into a projecting shape and having the wall thickness of the flange parts 3 and the web part 4 approximately equal to the product size is obtd. The web part of the above-mentioned intermediate product 2 is cold- formed in at least two passes by plural sets of cold forming rolls disposed in parallel with each other, by which the channel steel having the parallel flange parts and the flat web part is obtd.

    • PURPOSE:To roll channels having each different web height without rearranging rolls by bisecting upper and lower horizontal rolls freely movably in their axial directions respectively and adjusting the distances between respectively bisected horizontal rolls and between vertical rolls in accordance with the cross-sectional dimensions of a steel shape to be rolled. CONSTITUTION:A steel shape having a web and flanges is finish rolled by an universal mill having upper and lower horizontal rolls and a pair of vertical rolls 11, 12. The upper and lower horizontal rolls are divided respectively into two pairs of horizontal rolls 21, 22, 23, 24 freely movably in their axial directions, and the distances between respective divided horizontal rolls 21, 22, 23, 24 and between the vertical rolls 11, 12 are adjusted respectively in accordance with the cross-sectional dimensions of a steel shape to be rolled, to perfrom finish rolling. Accordingly, innumerable H-beams having each the same flange thickness fF and different web height WF can be manufactured without rearranging the rolls.

    • PURPOSE:To make a steel channel possible to avoid a stress concentration in its corner part, and suitable for a reinforcing member for a crossing part of structural members, by regulating the outer radius of a corner part connecting a web with a flange, and by forming the channel in one body through a hot rolling work. CONSTITUTION:In said steel channel 1, a corner part 1, connecting a web 1a with a flange 1b, is formed so a to have a gradually increasing wall thickness starting from the wall thickness of at least either one of the web 1a or the flange 1b. The outer radius R2 of the corner part 1c is regulated to 1-6 times of the wall thickness T1 of the web 1a or T2 of the flange 1b; under this condition, the steel channel 1 is hot rolled in one body. Hereupon, the inner radius R1 of the corner part 1c is regulated to R1>=(R2-T1). When this channel 1 is to be used as a steel angle, the channel 1 is divided in two along a cutting line 2, for instance, by a gas cutting method, etc., and two steel angles 1' are obtained.
