    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform collecting of exhaust gas efficiently on a boat without introducing any increased cost of an outboard engine. SOLUTION: An outboard engine comprised of an exhaust gas structure for discharging exhaust gas discharged from the engine stored within a cowling to surrounding atmosphere through an expansion chamber arranged below the engine, catalyst stored in the expansion chamber, a substantial inverse U-shaped exhaust gas pipe 19 communicated with the catalyst and an exhaust gas passage communicated with the exhaust gas pipe 19 is constructed such that a threaded hole (a communicating hole) 19g communicated within the exhaust gas pipe 19 is formed in the vicinity of a down-stream side opening 19b communicated with the exhaust gas passage of the exhaust gas pipe 19, an exhaust gas collecting exhaust gas probe 23 is fixed to the communicating hole 19g and then the exhaust gas flowing in the exhaust gas pipe through the catalyst is collected through the probe 23. With such an arrangement as above, since the exhaust gas probe 23 is fixed to the exhaust gas pipe 19, resulting in that a connecting operation of the hose 30 to the exhaust gas probe 23 can be performed easily on the boat and then workability of collecting the exhaust gas is improved.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the extent of output in a high load area by installing a feed water control circuit which feeds a conduit around a charging passage with cooling water fed by a water pump under pressure at time of engine high load being detected by a load state detector. CONSTITUTION:A feed water control circuit 43 is made up of providing a selector valve 45, selecting a water jacket 37 and a conduit 38 each to a supply channel 41 of a water pump 39 and a first drainage channel 44 each for connection, a valve driver 46 for this valve 45 and a control unit 47 controlling this valve driver 46 after obtaining the detected result of a throttle valve opening sensor 42. In this circuit 43, at time of high load in an internal combustion engine 17, cooling water goes by way of the conduit 38 around a crankcase 32 (a charging passage) first and, after cooling the circumference of the crankcase 32, it gets into the water jacket 37, absorbing heat around a combustion chamber 28. In brief, air passing through the crankcase 32 is cooled by cooling water, not yet rising in temperature, immediately after pressure- feed by the water pump 39, making it into high density, whereby a charging air quantity into the combustion chamber 28 is increased, thus improvement in output is promoted.
