    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition device for an internal combustion engine, surely eliminating spark lack, with reduced manufacturing cost by simple structure, and with reduced size.
      SOLUTION: In the ignition device, a simultaneous ignition type ignition coil is disposed to each cylinder to supply high voltage to two cylinders by one coil. Coil parts are connected in parallel with each other, in which each coil part is constituted of: a primary coil constituting an ignition coil of two different cylinders; and a power switching element controlling a primary electric current flowing through the primary coil; and a secondary coil. Primary electric currents flowing through two of the primary coils are sequentially switched to continuously generate high-voltage discharge to two ignition plugs installed to a closed circuit to which two of the secondary coils are connected in parallel with each other. Thereby, the spark lack is surely eliminated and the number of ignition coils is minimized, so that the manufacturing cost is reduced with simple structure and the size of the ignition device is reduced.
