    • PURPOSE:To make shift operation so easy enough as well as to prevent afterburning from occurring, by detecting load if more than its specified one is imposed on a shift operating means, regulating a fuel supply to an internal combustion engine, and lowering this engine speed. CONSTITUTION:Operating physical force by a shift operating device 13 rotates a shift arm 9 of a forward-backward transfer mechanism 5 via a cable 12, a shift auxiliary mechanism 11 and a cable 10, engaging a dog clutch 8 with forward-backward gears 17 and 18 alternatively. Then, at the time of being selected to a neutral position from the engaged state, if a claw 19 of this dog clutch 8 is not pulled out because driving torque is large enough, a first lever 21 precedingly rotates against a spring 25 to a second lever 22, and thereby a shift detecting device 28 consisting of a sensor 27 and a magnet 26 is turned on. A controller closes thereby a rotary valve and regulates the supply of an air-fuel mixture, reducing the driving torque of an internal combustion engine 1. Thus, a shift operation is made easy and simultaneously afterburning at the time of an engine and speed drop is prevented from occurring.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of after-fire by a method wherein an overheat state is detected and during operation at the number of deceleration revolutions lower than that during the occurrence of an overheat, an exhaust gas temperature is reduced by a temperature reducing means. SOLUTION: When the number of revolutions of an engine exceeds the given number of revolutions and an overheat is detected, an ignition control circuit 12 stops drive of a thyristor 17 and through the occurrence of a misfire by alternately stopping ignition of cylinders, the number of revolutions of an engine is reduced to the number of deceleration revolutions. In this case, an ignition advance amount of a working cylinder is controlled to an advance amount higher than an ignition advance amount corresponding to the decelerating number of revolutions. Further, an exhaust valve is controlled so that an exhaust stating timing is delayed from an ordinary exhaust starting timing corresponding to the decelerating number of revolutions. This constitution discharges exhaust gas being sufficiently burnt having temperature being reduced, and prevents the occurrence of after-fire wherein green gas generated due to a misfire is burnt at an exhaust system.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent malfunction of a working part by stopping operation of the working part under the given inclination state of an oil level in a tank, in a device wherein an oil level detector is located to a lubricating oil tank mounted on an outboard engine body and the working part, such as buzzers, is operated according to a detecting result therefrom. CONSTITUTION:A swivel bracket 10C is rotatably mounted on a clamp bracket 10A, secured to the stern board of a ship hull 11, through a tilt shaft 10B, and a propulsion unit 12 serving as an outboard motor body is rotatably mounted to the bracket 10C through a steering shaft. A subtank 24 is secured to the upper part of the side of an engine 13 of the propulsion unit 12, and an oil level detector 53 is incorporated in the subtank 24, the detector capable of performing suction operation and alarm operation according to a change in an oil level in the subtank 24. In this case, an inclination switch, not shown, to detect the inclination state of an oil level in the substance 24 is mounted on the oil level detector 53. Under a given inclination state of an oil level in a lubricating oil tank, operation of a working part, such as buzzers, is stopped.

    • PURPOSE:To detect the tilt angle accurately, by transmitting the rotation of a rotary level to a permanent magnet through a means of lessening the angle of transmission to detect the rotation value of the permanent magnet with a magnetic sensor. CONSTITUTION:This apparatus is equipped with a swivel bracket 14 which holds a propelling unit in such a manner as to free to oscillate horizontally, a clamp bracket 12 which is fixed on a stern board to hold the swivel bracket 14 rotatably with a horizontal tilt shaft 16 and an analog type angle detector 24 which is fixed on one of both the brackets 14 and 12 while a rotary lever 36 is engaged with the other thereof 14 and 12 and the tilt angle of the propelling unit 20 about the tilt shaft 16 is detected from the angle of rotation of the rotary lever 36. The angle detector 24 is provided with a permanent magnet 46 held rotatably in a case 26, a means which comprises gears 44 and 48 provided to lessen the transmission angle transmitted to the permanent magnet 46 by reducing the angle of rotation of the rotary lever 36 and a magnetic sensor which outputs an analog electrical signal responding to the rotation of the permanent magnet 46 as opposed to the permanent magnet 46.
