    • The present invention reduces lowering in control accuracy for a hydraulic pressure in a brake cylinder, which lowering is caused by vibrations of a hydraulic pressure in an upstream portion due to operations of a slip control device during anti-lock control.
      The vibrations of the hydraulic pressure in the upstream portion are transmitted to a control pressure chamber via a pressurizing piston of a master cylinder and a control piston of a regulator. During anti-lock control, in contrast, a pressure-increase linear valve and a pressure-reduction linear valve are opened, allowing change in volume of the control pressure chamber, resulting in reduction in stiffness. This reduction suppresses vibrations of a hydraulic pressure in the control pressure chamber, resulting in suppression of vibrations of a hydraulic pressure in a front pressure chamber. As a result, it is possible to reduce the lowering in control accuracy for the hydraulic pressure in the brake cylinder in anti-lock control using the hydraulic pressure in the front pressure chamber, which can well avoid a long braking distance.

    • A braking system for automotive vehicles is provided which is designed to minimize the kickback produced in a brake master cylinder (3) and transmitted to a vehicle operator through a brake pedal (1) during braking control or to inform the vehicle operator of generation of the kickback in advance for alleviating the discomfort due to the kickback. The braking system includes a pressure regulating valve (110,111) which restricts transmission of a pressure (3) variation to the master cylinder from a hydraulic braking circuit (400) during the braking control to reduce the kickback. The braking system may alternatively include a pressure-reducing valve (302,303) which reduces the hydraulic pressure within the brake master cylinder to decrease a hydraulic reaction force against the pedal effort provided by the vehicle operator when a wheel is approaching or has reached a road-tire adhesion limit for warning the vehicle operator of generation of the kickback in advance.
