    • The invention concerns a piston pump and in particular the arrangement of the bearing ring for supporting the pump piston (9) on an eccentric (13). The pump mounting (15) comprises a bearing ring (17) and a plurality of bearing needles (16). The generated surface of the eccentric (13) is radially set back inwardly relative to the generated surface of the shaft. The two graduated transitions (19, 20) form abutment surfaces for the bearing needles (16). The bearing ring (17) is supported on one side on an inner ring (21) for a main bearing (5) and, on the other side, directly or indirectly on the graduated transition between a second region (7) and a third region (10) in a blind hole (4). Furthermore, an auxiliary bearing (40) is provided of which the bearing ring (41) is made of a material subjected to a high degree of wear which enables the electric motor (3) used to drive the piston pump to be tested before the piston pump is assembled.
